The morning met female residents of the clinical hostel with great bemusement as two female residents of age 17 and 18 were physically assaulted by a member of the year 4 dentistry class named Rex Dumbari, a year 3 class named Peter Ebutu Eliot and a year 5 medical student named Egrinya David.

On speaking to the female students, there has been cases of repeated assault against female students by their male counterparts.
Females are subjected to gender based bullying and threatened to keep shut or be beaten. These are supposed to be the future doctors and medical professionals.

Our sources states that The University of calabar has begun a proper investigation regarding this and an ongoing decision is being made. We await the newest update from the authorities.

This morning I was ironing my skirt getting ready for service. When I heard a girl screaming "why are you beating her" .I came outside and saw what was happening I started taking video the scene. When I noticed that the situation was getting heated, I went downstairs. I was so sad, angry and shocked at what I had witnessed and what was going on in the hostel. I muttered to my self " what sort of human beings are living in this hostel? What sort of rat and cockroaches are living here?", I heard behind me 'will you shut up?". Surprised, I turned and found it it was a male senior colleague(Egrinya David;a 500A Medical student) I asked him "why should I shut up?". He then dragged my t-shirt from behind and started punching me. At this time we were at the terrace of the hostel where most of the students were. Other guys that were there also joined in to punch me. There were about five though I could only remember two( Rex Dumbari;a 400A Dental student and Elloit Peter Ebutu;a 400B Dental student) because I was trying to get my self out of their midst. I was successfully dragged out by a female colleague then called my Dad because I was scared and terrified about what had just happened.
My dad came to the hostel and talked to the security personnels, hall chairman and Hall secretary advocating for peace and trying to resolve the matter. I was instructed to go to my room which was where I stayed until I had been called by the CUDENSA president to give my testimony.
I was instructed by my parents to return home as the hostel was no longer safe for me both as a victim and a female.
. I therefore request that justice should be served and the culprits be punished for the ganged beating of an innocent harmless female!!!

I'm really ready for whoever that comes here among em to spew gibberish and lies today.
Hostel wey be say d presence of male students even serve as security for most of them ladies upstairs.
We've counted several times dat we've confronted strange and ugly face guys from climbing their staircase cuz most of em might be naked or half naked to prevent dangers and subsequent assault on Them etc..

One dat was recently witnessed was when one fair and a bit lanky guy boldly told one person money beggar man dat seems deranged dat if he dare step his foot on the staircase,his legs will be crippled,d guy was saying him go give am avascular necrosis
