Is IRELAND part of the UK? No .
====================
As of today, the British Isles contain two sovereign states: Ireland (alternatively described as the Republic of Ireland) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The United Kingdom comprises four countries of the United Kingdom: England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Academics / Education in Ireland:
=====================
Unlike the UK which offers UG program for 3 years, Irish undergraduate programs last 4 years . 4 years however for a BSc honors .

However, masters (MSc/MBA,MA) is similar to the UK and duration of program is 1 year- *** Exception to Research-Masters (MRes) and few MBA programs.

Tuition fees are quite similar to the UK and living costs as well. E.G the UKVI set monthly living cost within London or close to London at £1,200 while states/counties outside London @£900+. Similarly, Dublin's expected living costs * depending on the Institution is €900 - €1200 per month.
So generally speaking, Capital cities are expensive to reside in.... If you're still in doubt ask LAGOSIANS or those living in Abuja ..lol

I'll provide more details about admission requirements later...

Cheers

Getting Admission offer to study in Ireland
==========================

Foundation & Undergraduate
==================

For foundation/pre-bachelors programs in Business, Engineering, Sciences and Medical courses- Entry requirement is at least 5 0-level credit results (WAEC/GCE/IGCSE/NECO), this should include credits in English and MATHEMATICS. While for Medical courses, students should have exceptional results with As & Bs.

Studying in Ireland is EUR 9000/year, studying in Germany is basically free. They both offer a 1 year post-study work visa afterwards. Germany is also the most productive economy in Europe with a 3.9% unemployment rate, this is lower than the UK unemployment rate which stands at 4.4%. Ireland, on the other hand, is one of the least productive economies in Europe with a 6.4% unemployment rate.

There is no reason for an immigrant to study in Ireland when Germany provides the best option in Europe.

Good , What are procedure for study in GERMANY?
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by ICaSNg(f): 4:30pm On Sep 18, 2017
Yes, Germany has a Tuition-free policy, however semester charge applies. Excluding the fact that you need £9000 in a German Blocked account- Not to talk about the £3000 + for pre-sessional language classes.

This is a thread to make people more aware of the benefits of studying in IRELAND as compared to the UK.

I'll be discussing more about the 2 years work permit available to graduates of Masters program and opportunity for Permanent settlement in Future posts.

Cheers

Post-study work PERMIT in IRELAND (Yess O)
===========================

So Ireland is probably thanking God for BREXIT..LOL

Recently, Republic of Ireland has stepped up her game and going real in by taking opportunities- skilled graduates the UK is letting off. They've increased their post-study work permit from 1 year to 2 years for Graduates who successfully complete their masters program (Level 9).
With more companies closing shop in the UK and moving to Ireland (needless to mention Ireland remains within the EU and now only the English speaking Country in Europe), this Country provides a safe Havenfor businesses and more work opportunities graduates especially, in Tech, Health and Engineering;with the likes of FACEBOOK, GOOGLE, PayPal , Irish NHS, Diageo, Coca-cola, kraft foods (Cadbury) as employers of labor based in Ireland and many more moving business from the UK to Ireland .

ICaSNg:
Postgraduate-MSc/MA/MBA Programs (Admission process/ Requirements / Fees / Visa app /Work-permit)
=================================================================

1. Admission Requirements/Processing:
=========================
For most Universities or Averagely rated Schools, minimum grade to get admitted into a masters programme is 2:2. However, for few selected courses or programs, a 2:1 grade is required. Other requirements are listed below:
a. Curriculum Vitae
b. Statement of purpose
c. Verified O-level results / certificates
d. BSc Transcripts & Certificate
e. English proficiency test (PTE/IELTS): minimum scores for PTE is 65 while IELTS is 6.0 minimum for each band and 6.5 overall.
f. Valid traveling passport
g. Application fees (Most Universities accept application charges)

If however you are you have very low GPA or looking to apply to high-ranked Universities such as UCC, Trinity college et al, then you may have to go through a pre-masters program @ their partner foundation College or take a semester / a session pre-masters program before starting your main masters program.

As earlier mentioned, duration of a masters program in Ireland is similar to the UK; Program duration for most courses is 1 year; while few selected programs such as MRes or MBA may last 18 - 24 months.
Tuition fee is relatively similar to the UK @ EUR 10,500 to as much as EUR 22,000 (e.g UCC has fine/brilliant programs that cost as much as 22,000 euros each year).

Visa application:
===========
Contrary to the UK's easier visa processing and application, Ireland requires significant number of documents before your visa is approved.

Once an applicant gets an offer from an Institution in Ireland, such is required to make a minimum deposit payment (EUR 6000) to be issued a receipt (inotherwords, Confirmation of Acceptance for studies) then similar to the UK, you need to show proof of funds covering balance of your Tuition fees and amount specified by your Institution for living costs.
Living costs/ Expenses vary from EUR 7000 to EUR 11,000 for 1 year program within Dublin or outside Dublin .

Irish Visa application is a very tricky one and requires attention to details.

Applying form Nigeria is currently at EUR 100/110 and you are required to buy a courier package to deliver your passport and visa.

Applying for Irish study Visa/permit from or within the UK takes 7 -21 working days. Visa app fees is less than £60.

You can show proof of funds in your personal account or a sponsors account; whichever way, you're required to present 6 months statement of account and explain any large deposit.
You are also required to show proof of employment and relationship between you and your sponsor amongst other requirements.

Now ....Drum rolling....lol

Post-study work PERMIT in IRELAND (Yess O)
===========================

If you are lucky to get additional 2 years of work experience in Ireland together with your post-study work visa making 4 years of practical and relevant work experience in Ireland, you are entitled to apply for Indefinite leave to Remain / Permanent Residence permit card which is 5 years and thereafter apply for citizenship....

Like I mentioned, Why spend more , when you can spend less for more opportunities....

In a seminar I attended in Feb organised by the Irish embassy in Lagos, they stated they require it. However, if you have any additional proof asides the English test e.g A letter from your University , they may waive that as a requirement.
It is always better to provide more documents than not enough ----If you however studied in the UK, US English test is not required.

HND Qualifications ---Do we stand a chance to study in Ireland ?
==================================================

I'll be addressing getting an admission offer in Irish Universities with a Higher National Diploma (HND) Result today.

I've received significant number of queries which includes: Can a HND graduate apply to study in Ireland? to Duration of studies for HND graduates.

Yes, as a HND graduate you can study almost anywhere in the world once you have the required funds available. Securing an admission offer for HND graduate is similar to BSc gradautes with a third class degree especially for Republic of Ireland and Canada .

The Republic of Ireland does not require GMAT before you get an admission offer.

Kindly look read the thread and google if there are scholarships available for your programme.

Please how easy is it to get a job in Ireland, be it part time or full time if I were doing my studies there compared to UK, Australia or Canada.

How much is rent for a studio or one bed in Dublin? I believe jobs will be plenty there, it being the capital.

Is it possible residing outskirts of Dublin and working in Dublin?

What is transport like in and out of Dublin? Is it easily accessible and cheap? Rent should be cheaper outside Dublin in other states.

Apologies if you feel offended, I'll expect intelligent people to know thats a typographical error. Plus difference btw EUR 9000 AND £9000 is #70,000 so it still falls within the same bracket.

Ireland is not as generous yet as the UK-which is totally understandable, An average university in the UK gets at least 100 international students yearly thus giving few candidates 50% off their tuition fees won't be something strenuous.

I'll suggest you research Business Institutions and scholarships available to International students and requirements for application.

All the best
