Yorubas Are Moors by Moorish: 7:10am On Aug 10, 2018
The evidence for my assertion is
All had large cavalries who researchers claim are from a singular source
If you study the facial features of the moors you see yorubic and northern nigerian features
The moors had a lot of horses as well
Odduduwa came from the east
Islam has been in Yoruba land since the 14th century
We have a mosque that's the oldest in nigeria I believe
If you look at noble drew ali you see strong yoruba features
There are a group of Yoruba, emo yo quaim who claim to have been driven from Morocco
The moors did settle in Morocco
In fact moor=Morocco
See the following pictures
Any Yoruba who is comfortable with this information and would like to build a Moorish civilization with me. Reach out on firstname.lastname@example.org
Moorish architecture is heavenly too

Moorish:Facial look or tribal mark or body structure are not the determinant factor because of intermarriages but proof with either ethnography or linguistic connection; shared words even if the pronunciations are slightly different but must show same meaning ,while using philology.

So because Oduduwa May have been a Moor according to you, that is why you think all Yoruba are Moors? Does Oduduwa origin define the origin of all Yoruba’s? You do know that there are Eastern and Central Yoruba’s. What if he came from an Eastern Yoruba subgroup which is what another version of his origin explains. Instead of Morocco like you claim. Please don’t water the Yoruba culture or origin with unproven history. We don’t have to be from a foreign land to be Yoruba.

I cannot speak for all yorubas I can only speak for myself
My mum told me her grandfather rode a horse during pilgrimage to Mecca, hajj, from Ibadan
Her maiden name is Sanni, clearly an Afro asiatic name
My own family name is Ajala
A non Yoruba name with no meaning in Yoruba
But natural structures and monuments in Sudan and Saudi Arabia and Egypt bear the names “Ajala”
Even the Quran has “Ajala” in it
I cannot speak for the rest of you
I know and am proud of my deep links to the east

baby124:Moorish history is more glorious than any sub-Saharan African history
So it’s the opposite of a water down
Even oral historical corpus of yorubas assert an eastern origin for yorubas, specifically the region of Mecca
There is a reason for that
Can u explain our possession of a large cavalry ?
Re: Yorubas Are Moors by Nobody: 7:51pm On Aug 10, 2018
Moorish:No it wasn’t. Aksumite and Zagwe probably exceeded it.
Modified: Moors civilization wasn’t located in sub-Sahara and majority Moors weren’t dark skinned.

Moor : a member of a NW African Muslim people of mixed Berber and Arab descent. In the 8th century they conquered the Iberian peninsula, but were finally driven out of their last stronghold in Granada at the end of the 15th century.
The moors were mostly Berber and Arab.. so dark blacks, light skinned blacks and Arabs
Some Berber tribes include the tauregs, and these are dark skinned Africans
Aksum and zagwe did not invent modern musical instruments or algebra so you are completely wrong once again

Sinistami:The problem with you is you consider ancient African history as useless, I don't, it is an archive of artistic, textile, architectural resources that can re invent African civilization
People like you are low lifers.
Do you earn up to 700k monthly ?
If you do not then go and hide cos u are beneath me

Sinistami:Lack of ancient structures dating beyond 10,000bc in Africa is one reason
Also the amount of untapped flora and fauna makes this part of the world newly inhabited to me

Good because in this nairaland it doesn't take much to get your thread derailed. Na Smol tin de spoil thread. I love Yorubas I don't know if its because of my Saro ancestry or Just my Ondo state girlfriend. they're my favourite after my very own Ijaw and the. whole Niger delta.
Re: Yorubas Are Moors by Sinistami(m): 9:58pm On Aug 10, 2018
Do You actually believe life actually started at Ile ife. because in Ijaw Folk lore too it was mentioned Otu-Ife along with Oduduwa although as Adumu and other Yoruba figures too. sorry if Iam asking a lot of Question because I came to this thread to learn more than to actually add.
Re: Yorubas Are Moors by Moorish: 10:05pm On Aug 10, 2018
Sinistami:Many cultures believed life started in their city states
Where do we start? Rome, Beijing, Mongolia, persia or ife
Re: Yorubas Are Moors by Olu317(m): 10:25pm On Aug 10, 2018
Moorish:My take on this thread is a bit complex because you are right to a large extent. Let clearly say this that it was around 17th century that some Caucasians begun to differentiate people, with classification, because in ancient world powers such as
Egypt, Roma,Greek, etc people were dealt with based on status and not colour. The moors were of different look and some in the same manner the Arabs and Egyptians too. I have read Journal written by a muslim cleric called Ilori about shared words between Yoruba and Arabs. The reality is that the people that set up Ébì ystem were the crème de la crème in the ancient times that modified Yoruba ways of life. And these people were advanced in tevhnological know how, which made them unique in West Africa because they were migrants and the knowledge they came with was unique. The calvary you mentioned was accurate. They were rich people. Funny enough the word Ébì' is of Hebrew origin. My take on this thread is that the following were the ancestors of Yorubas: Arabs,Moors,Nubians, Ethiopians,Hebrews.
The reasons are these:
1. Arabs words are scantly found in Yoruba language.Apart from this, some Yoruba have link with Arabs ancestry. For example, Ilorin.
2.Moors ,patterns of irrigation or water system, temple ,arrows etc were found in Yoruba land.
3.Nubians are also found in little percentage of Bantoid group. Mostly captured men as servants and slaves. While females were married.
4.Ethiopians ancient way of circumcission of both male and female gender in many Yoruba towns were common in many with the exception of Ijebu and some others
5.Hebrews are the largest group among these Yoruba people with high concentration of linguistic connection.
.Even with high rate of twin birth which was an ancient identity of the ancient Hebrews.
Re: Yorubas Are Moors by Nobody: 11:10pm On Aug 10, 2018
Moorish:Black were present among Moors but majority Moors weren’t black.
