Explanation of the book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics" Yoruba
Lecture 1

In this video, I started with the explanation of the book "KA Stroud Engineering Mathematics" in Yoruba. I explained the motivation behind the choice of this book for my weekly class. After this, I presented some of the information and terminologies contained in the book. The video ended with an explanation of the first topic (Arithmetic) - here, I explained the concept of whole numbers, natural numbers, and integers as well as the controversies surrounding whether 0 is part of natural numbers.

In the first part of the session, I posed a challenge whose secret presents algebra and its components to explain the concept clearly. In essence, you will learn the idea of algebra as covered in the book and other concepts such as expression, terms, coefficient, rules/properties of algebra, etc., all in the Yoruba language.

In this session, I continued by explaining Program 2 of the book (introduction to algebra) from frame 8, page 68 in Yoruba. We covered topics such as terms, like terms, similar terms, coefficients, expansion, factorization, and nested fractions. Since algebra is concerned with using alphabets and numerals to perform arithmetic, the book's author interestingly revised powers (indices) & logarithms which we have covered in the previous frames. So, I covered the topics again also in detail.

KA Stroud Engr Math in Yoruba 11 - Logarithms

In this episode, I continued by explaining Program 2 of the book from frame 26, page 75 in Yoruba. The author continued with the explanation of logarithms and some of its rules. I explained the relationship between logarithms and indices and proved some of their rules. We covered other concepts such as special logarithms (common and natural logarithm), change of base, and applied the rules to solve expressions and equations involving logarithms. Scholar Ibrahim Yahya among others joined the session and gave a closing remark.

KA Stroud Engr Math in Yoruba 13 - Factorization of algebraic expressions

In this episode, I continued with the explanation of the book in Yoruba from Program 2, frame 55. Using the exposition of the author, I discussed how to multiply and divide algebraic fractions, factorize algebraic expressions as well as how to find the highest common factor of algebraic expressions. Also, I derived some useful products from simple factors such as the perfect square and the difference of the two squares and briefly introduced how to use a pascal triangle in expanding binomial expression.

KA Stroud Engr Math in Yoruba 14 - Factorization of quadratic expressions

In this episode, we continued from page 90 - Program F2, Frame 65 of the book. The author discussed quadratic expressions and how to factorize them. Using his exposition, I explained this in Yoruba. I continued my explanation to the test of simple factors of quadratic expressions, marking the end of Program F2. Also, I explained how you could obtain the nature of the root of a quadratic equation.
