UK Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) Application The application for the Qualified Teachers Status (QTS) in England started some hours back. It's an opportunity Nigerians, especially Teachers have been waiting for. Like their counterparts in the medical fields, it is an opportunity for Teachers to japa. For now the opportunity only open to two countries in Africa; Ghana and Nigeria. Let's gather together to assist one another on this journey... To apply, one must have the following 1. Proof of Identity (International passport/birth certificate/NIN) 2. Proof of Teaching Qualifications (Certificates and Transcript) 3. Proof of English (Language test like IELTS, Pearson etc/Letter of Introduction by school) 4. Proof of Professional Standing (to be issued by TRCN) 5. Proof of Work History (Name and email of a Professional contact) Aside the above, one should have at least two years teaching experience |

Nigerias should just forget teaching in UK,.. those children will put them in trouble. If it's Asian country like South Korea, Japan etc where children are taught respect, it will be easy. But UK, it's a setup. 15 Likes |

Why is TRCN demanding over #65,000 just for them to send email to the UK employer?? After candidate already paid,sat for TRCN exam , passed and have a certificate... Since the UK employer only requested it should be sent from TRCN email.. they've started new way to extort Nigerian.  About the proof of English, I don't think it's necessary to have IELTS since what they require is grade 6. Which is equivalent to Waec or neco. And hnd or bsc. Most important is you must have taken English language in school and Waec. Good luck and success to everyone. 5 Likes |

Major Keypoints on UK Teachers Sponsored Visa February 1st 2023 marked the opening of application for overseas trained teachers to be accepted to the UK. Teachers from Nigeria, among other select countries can apply to get the QTS. With this, they can apply for a sponsored job visa to the UK. On opening of the application, here are few key points to note. 1. Science and Language Subjects Teachers Only: Qualified teachers in Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry are needed. In addition to French and German language teachers. For other subject teachers, not this time. 2. Must have a degree in education: Teaching is a profession and you must show it by your qualification. Applicants must be graduates Educators i.e BSc.Ed or with PGDE. The idea of I did biochemistry so I can teach biology is off. Be a professional teacher. NCE is not acceptable. 3. TRCN Registered: In addition to point number 2, you need to be licensed by the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, TRCN. The examining UK body would need a sealed verification from TRCN to confirm that the applicant is a professional licensed teacher in Nigeria. 4. Documentation: These include passport, academic transcripts, IELTS or proof of English as medium of study. 5. Years of teaching experience: Overseas UK teaching applications need to be backed by evidence of teaching experience. Don't burn that bridge with your past employers.
