That's what I thought. A long time ago, I read a book about the Chinese making gods for their people to worship sometime like 1000 years ago. Also read about Egyptians making gods before Yahweh. And now I'm coming to understand why gods and religion are essential for teaching the basics of communal living (discipline, for instance, and respecting others, and working for one's daily bread). Though that's hard to say about religionised DT who hasn't learnt the Word is in the beginning.

Those who don't learn the basics of living do not tend to live long nor comfortable, just as one who isn't taught to brush one's teeth, as in religionised to worship one's toothbrush, will not have teeth that will last one's entire lifetime.

Here's some trivia. The Greek God of teeth was Cadmus, and the Egyptians' was Sopdu.

Another way of seeing this might be that we are not wired to hunger for food or water. We are wired to live (and die, eventually), and living requires food and water, amongst other things, so we go looking for food and water and those other things so that we may live instead of die of hunger for them.

Same wired to live requires that we seek knowledge. People die for lack of fulfilling their hunger for it, as shown below.

You would need to state your drift so it can be caught as you want it to be caught I guess, because it might as well be said that humans are wired to breath oxygen and work for their daily bread, oxygen and daily bread being other things apart or as well as petrol that most living beings go looking for. I'd add knowledge too, since most humans who don't seek knowledge die sooner than those who do, very generally speaking.
