ABU Zaria recently released a circular for students not to resume till further notice due to the inability of the school to pay over 100 million naira monthly light bill. Famously known by the slogan 'Naturally ahead' has seen academic activities threatened due to financial constraints. The school is currently a year(academic session) behind other public universities.

Useless school

That school has never remained the same since covid-19.

COVID struck immediately after 2020 Jamb exam. Students were sent home for some months. When other schools resumed, schools in Kaduna state did not resume with them because of an executive order by governor El-Rufai asking schools not to resume for fear of spread of covid. They succeeded in wasting students' time to the extent that 2020 academic session was gone. They had to lump 2020 jambites and 2021 jambites together for POST-UTME. imagine writing jamb and staying at home for one full year and then writing POST-UTME with 2021 set.

After writing POST-UTME exam, admissions were given and students were ready to start school. Then ASUU 8 months strike struck. After ASUU strike, instead of students to start school immediately, ABU management said school starts in January 2023.

School resumes and first semester went as planned only for this electricity problem to emerge. The question is what do these people take students for? Imagine writing Jamb in 2020 and still be in year one in 2023

Useless politicians killed the founder's dream for that school...


The school allowed the Northern Elites who graduated from there to take over their main aim and objectives.

A good Centre of academics like ABU started boasting with the numbers of politicians they've 'churned' out, when even those so called politicians are morally bereft. Instead of boasting with the number of research output the school had turned out?


These politicians should come and bail the school now.
