Senate Presidency: Niger Delta Group Rejects Akpabio, Backs Yari

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYWMskV9I5k

A group which prides itself as the mother body of all concerned Niger Delta stakeholders, the Coalition of Concerned Niger Delta stakeholders has denied endorsing the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Godswill Akpabio for the position of the Senate President of the 10th Senate.

The group says it seriously kicks against the APC's choice of backing Akpabio as the preferred candidate for office of the President of the 10th Senate.

Speaking at a press conference on the state of the nation in Abuja, the president of the group, Odiedim Amachree says the antecedents of Akpabio leave much to be desired, saying the former minister of Niger Delta is not fit to occupy the position.

The group instead endorsed the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari who it says is eminently qualified to be the president of the 10th National Assembly.

"Abdulaziz Yari wields the magic wand and indeed remains the one to beat in our view and considered opinion.

"He is a lover of this nation, a fulfilled politician, a man that can be trusted. We therefore believe the Senators should be allowed to choose their leadership without any external influence whatsoever", he stated.

Also speaking, a youth stakeholder of the group Nwisabari Bani said the tenth National Assembly needs a pragmatic leadership that will create a synergy for the executive to deliver in its mandate.

According to him, Yari represents that candidate who will speak truth to power and ensure that all Nigerians enjoy the dividends of democracy.

It called on members of the Senate to reject Akpabio and vote Yari as their president.

To me Akpabio is the Right man for the Job. South must provide the next Senate President........... Remember when Buhari was there, the North hold on to the Senate Presidency for complete 8 Year.............I advocate for Southern Presidency and Southern Senate Presidency. Chikena, no more no less.

Yari, that can not speak good English. You are a joker! That has successfully embezzled the monies meant for his State development and impoverished his people during his reign as governor. Abeg, get lost!!! We northerners do not support him.

Yari's money is talking in the Niger Delta.
Akpabio is one of the most corrupt politicians in the world. Yari also have some questions to answer though. The best person for the Senate President is a man without moral dents and who is opposed to corrupt practices. Such a man will put the thief in Aso Rock on check. Akpabio will only join him in stealing more.

I pray u guys don't lose out in the permutation of politics. Akpabio is the only hope of south south as the most known senator in south south. Another contender is Orju Uzor Kalu, but he is from south east. If senate president must go to south south then Akpabio is the best shot for it. My fear is that, the man is too corrupt.

Okay.

The seat was zoned to SS because of Akpabio.

But since SS don't want Akpabio, maybe APC should zone it either NW or NC.

President is SW
VP is NE.

So Senate President should go to NC while Speaker should go to NW or vice versa.

Senator Akpabio is a crook and corrupt individual that shouldn’t be allowed to smell the SP sit.

That being said,The APC NEC should meet with all its senators to come up with a better option from the south East other than Urji Uzo Kalu, the thief.

The SE is even inconsequential when it comes to national politics and therefore, should never even get the SP position.

They should consider the SW for the SP.

When Buhari was president in the first regime who is for the North, Saraki also was SP who was also from the North.

So,having a SP from the west isn’t a bad idea if the EAST AND SOUTH ARE NOT COMPETENT ENOUGH.

When last did we have a Senate president from the South West?
