So much negativity in this country. A school decides to use their engineering faculty to research and come up with a homegrown solution that will be put to practical use and not just displayed in the lab as many engineering projects tend to be and yet you have many half baked thinking individuals trying to make it looks as if it is a step in the wrong direction. 5 Likes |

Ebubu2: It seems you read the headline without reading the story. Let me help u out. “Aside from the effort which the institution is making on the railway transportation, we are also looking at electric bus transportation. The good thing about it is that this is home grown as few of our colleagues in the Department of Electrical Engineering are already working on that model and because we just released the Senate research grant, we are hoping that part of the grant will be used to work on that model,” Egbewole stated. 3 Likes |

Reinaldo: Yeah, their landmass is quite big, but train isn't the answer... Let him introduce more cabs, not buses please, because buses take more time to get filled Electric cabs will be really nice if the school can generate their own light Side note, I hope they already have constant internet connection in every area of the school for students (WiFi) because it's definitely more important than this project 2 Likes 1 Share |

Ebubu2:Calm down brother. Rail transportation has been seen as the only lasting solution to transportation problem in the school. People go graduated decades ago from UNILORIN knew about this plan, but I am surprised the VC is saying it as if it was his own idea. The school is big and rail transport is needed. 3 Likes |

Seeing alot of dumb comments from people who aren't on ground to know how serious of an issue transportation is in Unilorin. When there's no development we complain, yet when some people try to take initiative, all people can do is attack it. How would we ever grow in this nation? 4 Likes |

òdè...go and ask fellow unilorite they will tell you how important it is. Students have died, many with severe injuries arising from stampede during rush hours. Even if you wait till 8pm, you will still find queue. I remember my first encounter 2010. I didn't even know when my fine sandals' sole removed🤣, the sole removed and I walked home after bus dropped me at oke odo. Late time lectures till 7pm, early morning lectures 8am but hall is already full by 7am. People taking seat for another person using school bag, you will fight n fight later na you go tire. Assignment plenty, and you go still cook for house and other small chores...the uni be like advanced secondary school. Hostel slot be like gold. I never see hostel book all through my stay. You cannot vex and walk home because your body will refuse to wake up with you the next morning after almost 45mins to 1hr on road trekking. Very scorching sun during the day. Trouble of water scarcity when you get home, no light too before you know what has hit you, test is tomorrow and exam is next tomorrow 🤣🤣🤣. very crazy school Transport is the next thing, Students need quality time at home n school, and they need not get stressed about how to go home, then their brain can now think of better research. If you have been to school outside Nigeria and you have studied in unilorin then you will understand. Stress affect the state of mental balance. some Students enjoy that period of rush and will deliberately wait till that time before they go home, so that they can press a lady's breast and bums🤣🤣dem no go enter heaven...crazy times, mad simps Ebubu2: 4 Likes |

Even universities in advanced countries don't have electric train services, and these kleptomaniacs want to do what the West, Japan,China and the Koreas haven't done. The school management should stop deceiving themselves, and simply say they are in need of funds to embezzle. By the way, isn't that the responsibility of the government? |

Reinaldo:You're right to some extend though not totally because the flyover is 82% completion. Buses are in terminus for them. The issue of transportation only arises during the UTME, jamb and school examination only. Unilorin is behind one of my house here in Oke Odo. Train and electric bus are not needed, situation is never get that worse. 1 Like 1 Share |

Reinaldo: Getting vehicle to the permanent site is very challenging. From challenge to campus can take 30mins drive or more depending on traffic. The availability & cost is another factor. Even those on Tipper Garage,Tanke & Tanke iledu ain't finding it easy. 3 Likes 1 Share |
