One of the most useless jobs you can find out there is a cashier job in a betting shop.

Very useless job

In as much as I am not an agent or even play betting at all, I would tell you for free that you don't have a right to make such a derogatory statement!!!

It's absolutely wrong, bro. Do you have another job to give him if he resigns this minute?

It's high time pple like you knew that there's dignity in labour, so long as he finds a legitimate means to fend for himself.

Can you even tell if he supports his younger ones and family with that job?

Please, bro, you should know better by now. Don't push the OP to go and start stealing. Don't push him to go and join awon Pablo, please.

I come in peace.

On the 19th of April 2024 a guy by the name Tosin played virtual league from me when I asked for money he'd assure me that he's got money and calm down. He played the first ticket and said I should calm saying his money is with another cashier in our shop. He played up to #19k and later told the guy to give me which he did.

Now he played another #6k and said he's coming he left my place and started playing races of which he won and I knew but despite that I kept an eye on him and he observed then he came to me and said that I should calm down that I too like money blah blah blah
He played another 6k making #12k and said he'd pay me but I still kept an eye on him despite being our customer and unfortunately the few guys playing from turned into multitude because my partner made a mistake in her account and before I could say Jack he's gone! The m*****f***** left without paying me and I had to quickly get outside to check but couldn't find him! Then I told people around me about it and they were like he's not yet gone that he probably went to Noun supermarket to buy something blah blah cos no one believed he'll bolt like that I told them he was owing me and they were like he just received winnings of about #120k that he can do that. They even helped me try contact his friend but immediately his friend knew that it was me he was owing he denied ever having his contact and the reason is this

His friend was once owing me #1300 and I didn't see him through out that day so called him to explain that he's yet to pay me and he said that he forgot that he'd settle me tomorrow. The following day I told him about his debt and he showed me bale of cash and said he's got the money but he's not willing to pay me! Wtf! Twas a long issue but I managed to have part of the money to which he threatened that one day he'd send someone to come and play huge sums without paying then he'd let me know he did send the person

Right now guys I don't know what to do cos this money if left unpaid till month end will be deducted from my meager salary and I've been down all day. Please what should I do now? Infact I've been contemplating reporting to the police but you know NPF now. Now what do you think I should do?

Yhu stay close to Damija Ado Ekiti?

If you weren't dumb like the person you are trying to defend, you would have known that that advise wasn't what the OP wants to hear now. Advise him on how to get his money or shut up! Someone is looking for a way to get his money from an alleged scammer, that is when you are advising him to quit his job. Una get sense so?

Nigerians always doing the right thing at the wrong time.

By the way, will you employ him if he leaves his current job?
Not your fault. When you see gamblers, you just leave them to their world because no amount of talk can change them. Get sense quick before it is too late for you

Cool headed?? That adjective is certainly not for me!
Two years and counting this is the first time I experienced this shit bro
Then dedicated your time off to finding him. If you ask people that comes regularly, they will know where he hangs apart from the betting shop. Find him and collect your money. If he claims he doesn't have it at the moment, seize something of value that you think will cover the money.

You see why I said you are dumb. Did you even read the post and understand it? Who is the gambler in this story?

The OP works as a cashier in a betting shop. He was duped by a gambler who came to the shop to play and didn't pay him. If he doesn't get back the money from the gambler, it will be deducted from his monthly salary. So, you are advising the gambler (the one who duped OP) to quit gambling? Or you assumed that because OP works in a betting shop, he gambles too? Instead of advising OP on how to get back the money the gambler owes him so he can get his full salary by month ending, you are giving unsolicited advise on why the OP should quit his job or why he should quit gambling. Did the OP tell you that he gambles? Or did I tell you that I gamble?

You are really a dimwit!

The person don go with your money....the only advice I can give you to recover your money is to lolebo if you don't get it, forget it. BTW Was that your first day of experiencing such? If Yes you are learning if your answer is No ,you keep learning and you would always experience that...... You must still be young, can you keep this job for the next 10 years? Exposing yourself to gambling doesn't worth it for any reason

Build your career or skill with your time and not with gambling.

Please what's lolebo?

Bet9ja job pays better than banks
You win 290 they pay you 200
#90 goes to the cashier.

Let's use an average of #50,by 200 winnings in a day on your system (9am-8pm), depends on the location though you can achieve it.
50× 200=10,000
10,000 x 27=270,000+ whatever salary.

Note, for location where there's crowd
You're right sir

Why you con misuse the word "Dupe"?

I con think say Na better "work" dem work you.

You see, as an employee, there are standard operating processes laid down by your employer to ensure the smooth running of the business.

The moment you bend any of the rules while servicing a customer, you're strictly on your own.

You made a mistake allowing him to play without paying. Furthermore, you saw him with a "bale of cash" (whatever that means) and you couldn't hold him down and collect your money.

You quickly ran to nairaland, a faceless forum where anyone can claim to be a Billionaire, a doctor, a travel agent, etc to lament.

Like... You no get friends or people around the shop wey for help you pin the guy down, while you take your 12k from the bale of cash?

As e be now... Na sope otilo oooo.
