Good day every one pls I need help , my brother received his attention letter request form today from Conestoga college and in the form it’s stated if he has paid his full first semester tuition , he only made the tuition deposit of $1500. I would like to know if he has to pay his full semester tuition before he can get his attestation letter? Thank you
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Eraytee: 5:40pm On Apr 26
Yes he has to pay the full semester to get PAL, this is the new development.

JMG12:
Is your dad the one applying for SP? what you are trying to do will likely result in visa refusal. The money should be sent to your account, explain the lump sum with documents, let your uncle be a sponsor, attach his documents, source of income, TCC, CAC, letter of support, board resolution if the company is partnership, proof of relationship. I believe this will help
Thank you very much for the response, the reason he wants to transfer to my dad is because he’s technically a family friend so I’m thinking proving ties and why he wants to sponsor me might be tricky

Which of these campuses of NSCC will make me eligible for PGWP from January,2025? The reason I'm asking is because IRCC states that affiliated campuses are not eligible for PGWP.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by EbenMayor(m): 8:43pm On Apr 26
No, it's not required. I had my medicals today and they only asked if I have been vaccinated and if I had the vaccine card. I replied I have been vaccinated but didn't have the card with me. If you want to take it along, no wahala.

Pls I need advise…I went to pick up reference letter from my sponsor’s bank today and I noticed my surname and first name was misspelled, and they already sent my bank statement to the embassy few days ago. The issue now is my sponsor already withdrew huge amount of money out of his account. I can’t do another one with the present available balance and my name is not spelled correctly

To make it simpler, let your dad show some sales of asset to justify that lump sum. Its easier to prove ties with your Dad which is also a direct sponsor, if you do the above, he doesn't need to show a lengthy SOA, then he can actually transfer that lump sum to you and do a gift deed explaining his support for your study. by doing this too you don't have to show too much of your SOA because the focus is on the lump sum that you will explain fully in your LOE. this should go well if the available fund covers your tuition and living expenses.

Actually there's no problem with submitting your application without your account, I am the sponsor of my spouse too and we didnt show any account statement from her, we only showed her employment letter, reference letter from employer, study leave letter, and pay slip for 6 months. all you need is to show the source of the accumulated funds from your spouse and you'll be fine. my spouse application was approved few days ago. your spouse is actually a direct sponsor.

Hello Eraytee,

Congratulations on your spouse's approval. As a contribution to SimiMaya's question, the advice JMG12 gave is valid. You and JMG12 are not wrong. What to note is that there is no two application and each applicant's situation isn't the same and each officer applies discretion differently when reviewing applicants' financial situations. A lot of cases supporting both JMG12 and your view have been witnessed on this thread and outside before, which turned out positive and/or negative. It will be very wise if SimiMaya include a personal account if it is sufficient and if the spouse's POF has scanty inflows that doesn't accumulates to a historical bank balance.

One Love!

Tripitaka:
Good evening everyone,

I have a little confusion.

I'm trying to send my transcript electronically to Canada. My school requested that electronic copy of the transcript "must be sent via a secure delivery service, directly from the official institution".

I now reached out to my undergrad school, and they're saying they typically send via mail to the school directly without using any intermediary and that it's always honored.

Its confusing for me becasue if they are to send directly.tl Canada, it means the instruction of using a "secure delivery service" have not been met.

Does this matter or can my school send directly to Canada?

Someone please help

Hello Tripitaka,

If your graduate school does not use couriers for official transcript delivery, request the email of the graduate office of your prospective school (by reaching out to them via email) to satisfy the policy requirement for transcript requests from your graduate school. Some universities consider transcripts sent from a graduate school's email directly to the prospective school email as official.

Best Wishes!

Hello Rozzycool,

The option now open to you is getting the bank to re-issue the reference letter, and then get an affidavit of name correction to draw the attention of the officer to the error on the SOA.

BTW, if the reference letter and statement belong to your sponsor, why is your name on them? Usually, almost all banks have a concise format for their references.

Hello FreshStarz,

Many graduates opt for the Post-Baccalaureate Diploma because it bridges the academic knowledge of professionals in an alien field of study i.e. A Biotechnologist could decide to study Quality Assurance Management, a Nurse intending to study Toxicology, a Software Engineer wanting to study Digital Marketing or Business Data Analysis, etc. It also denotes a program progression. Some professional programs not available in PGD/C could be available in PBD depending on the needs of the student's professional development.

So it is not a red flag to apply for it as an international student?

To Flagpole means to drive to a canadian border with the US and walking out of canada and back in without getting into US. It is a kind of exit and entry. Completely legal.

If she’s currently enrolled there, I don’t see a problem at all so I’d say yes. As long as the school is recognized

Bro I'm willing to pay even 1500 for a one bed and one bath but sadly what i have been seeing on kijiji and rent faster is either 2150 or above.
Do you know anyone who's looking for a roommate?
We can get two bed and two bath together that should be way cheaper than paying for a one bed all alone.

Do you have a valid USA visa? If yes, you are good to go. If No, you can't use Delta Air. Best you seek an alternative airline. E.g Egypt Air, Ethiopia Air, Lufthansa Air (with minimum of 1 stop over only. If more than 1 stop over, then you require a Schengen visa), etc. Goodluck!!!

I think it's best you channel these questions via mail to your school as provided in their email address indicated. So you don't make mistakes. Goodluck!!!

Hey guys,

For those that arrived in Canada before the first day of class. Did you get a health insurance during time before the first day of class?
Did the Canadian visa officer request for the health insurance?
If you paid for health insurance, which provider did you use?

Thanks

To help answer your question, Yes you can do together indicating as a Group or do it separately as you wish. In my case, I submitted a Study Permit for my wife few weeks ago using the new IRCC portal. During application I indicated it was for a group application. My surname was indicated as the name of the Group. My wife was the Principal Applicant. I did hers and submitted and continued with my baby application which was eventually submitted too.. Even though they have different Application numbers , they would be treated together. Goodluck!
Kenn55:
Please guys,

For someone applying for study visa with her child, how should she go about it?

Apply for her study permit in a separate application and apply for her child visit visa in a separate application? Or is there a way she can apply together with the child?

I learnt there is old and new portal, which one should she use in this case?
Thanks
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Educhopper(m): 3:25pm On Apr 27
With the new IRCC law, some private schools are not eligible for PGWP. I think that's where the fear is.
Aside getting answers here, he/she have to google the correct answer to her predicament to avoid making a wrong move that would affect in the future. Shalom!
