Mallam Spends £4350.00 Or N1.1 Million On Baby Pram At Harrods London by KnowAll(m): 10:38pm On Sep 06, 2009
A Ghanian cab driver told me today that a wealthy Nigerian he picked up in Harrods London, bought a push Chair for his new baby for £4350.00 roughly about N1.1 Million Naira. Dont ask me for source as it is a word of mouth, moreover not many wealthy politicians would annouce to the whole world that they have just spent N1.1 million on a baby pram.

Most Ghanians know a Nigerian of Northern Extraction, as suppose to a southerner. The man was said to be in his 50's but had a young wife, my gut feeling went to Yuguda and his young Yardua bride, only a guess but definately a Northerner according to the source.

And just how did the cab guy know how much it cost?

After dropping them off, he wet bk to Harrods to get details of their tranaction??

And if the story is indeed true, there's nothing abnormal about it.

Nigerian politicians have been known to spend obscene sums on obscene things
Re: Mallam Spends £4350.00 Or N1.1 Million On Baby Pram At Harrods London by KnowAll(m): 9:04am On Sep 08, 2009
A Mallam in the western world are like Arab sheikhs , since most of these Mallams you see in London or other western nations have never broken sweat to make make a $1 in their lives spending awooof money  is a child's play to them, one mallam bought a £500.00 or N135,000.00  top up pay- as - go card from an indian man in London, the Indian man said sir, where are you from the man said I am from Nigeria, the indian shop keeper said he has never sold a top up card of over £100.00 b4 let alone £500.00. He was amazed.   embarassed

It looks like there are 2 citizens of Nigeria in London, One that comes as early as 5am to clean the Indian man's shop and the other one that spends the almighty pounds as if it has gone out of fashion.  undecided

Mallam: Have you got enough space in your car ?

Cab Driver: Yes sir, there is room for all what you bought sir,

Mallam: Be careful with that Pram,

Cab Driver: Yes sir, this pram is very beautiful,

Mallam: Oh yes, u know this shop is Harrods all their things are very expensive, I know I can get this particular one for $2,000.00 in Dubai, but my wife likes Harrod’s products.

Cab Driver: You mean this pram is more than $2,000.00 sir, oh yes everything is expensive in London because of their useless taxes we bought it £4350.00 but we thank God Isha allauh,

Cab Driver: £4350.00 poundddddddds, where are you from Sir,

Mallam: Nigeria,

Cab Driver: it must be from the North because I know most southerners when I see them,

The above conversation is not inconceivable, you have to know that Cab Drivers in the west are Professionals unlike Nigeria and most passengers tend to have a no hold barriers conversation with Cab drivers knowing that they are faceless human beings whom they might never come across again in their lives. Passengers would tell and reveal to cab drivers stories they will never tell their friends or families.

It is a measure of how rotten the country has become and the low perceptions of Nigerians, that a 'Nigerian' spending big in London is presumed to be a thieving politician.

I will like to challenge you, thank God your location is showing london, how many Nigerian Professional in London do you know that have spent that kind of money on a Pram. No matter how much you earn, no reasonable Nigerian Professional will spend what could easily be the deposit of a second car for the wife on a baby pram which will be used for tops 2 years and dumped somewhere where it would be gather dust.

Secondly why would anybody want to spend that kind of money on basically something that has not got a re-sale or second hand value whatsoever. It is clear from the other post No Nigerians in diasporas what billions, we all ran here to make some money for ourselves how many Nigerians in diaspoara can seriolusly say they have a million cash in their bank accounts. I am not talking of house valuation, I am talking of raw cash.

We all know such amounts are not alien even to our local goverment Chairmen not to talk of the almighty Governors, Ministers and ex presidents.

I know more than 20 Nigerians that have spent £5000 on a TV set.
Check your facts before making threads like this. . . . . .A pram of £4350 is not inconceivable. . . .
How much is £4350?

I know more than 20 Nigerians that have spent £5000 on a TV set.

My friend you cannot compare a tv set with a baby Pram, a TV set is self gratifying entertainment item, any thing that would give you that instant self gratification people would pay top dollar for it, u want a 60" set you go for it, it satisfies your quest for having what u conceive as a cinematic effect in the home front, so I see nothing wrong in that. Neither do I have problem if someone chooses to buy a Bentley and pay monthly for it, that is self gratifying.

Secondly Naija guys use stolen and cloned credit cards to buy expensive electronics like TVs, Top end mobile phones and laptops, my TV is worth £4000 pounds but rather than buy it from the shop which I have no issues with, I shopped around for our boys who has taking fraud as a profession and I bought it from them at half price I paid just under £2000.00. I repeat I dont have issue if you choose to buy it from the shop at full price I just felt it was good value for money for me to buy it from these chaps, I am not condoning or encouraging it is just the way things are. undecided

So what makes you think this Mallam does not value baby-prams more than TVs?
I still don't understand why you think he bought it with the money he has embezzled. . . . .
U are wide off the mark.
