The Traditional Ruler of Ibagwa-Nike Kingdom in Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, Ìgwè Dr. Emmanuel Ugwu, has described the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr, as a man of the people.

The monarch made this eulogy on Sunday when Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr paid him a courtesy call at his Palace in Ibagwa Nike Community, Enugu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.

He stated that Chief Aloysius Chidozie has all it takes to move the community forward, having worked with some notable leaders across the continent such as Nelson Mandela.

He stated that Chief Ogbonna's emergence as the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom is a predestined event by God as there were some failed elections during the community's 24 years of leadership crisis.

"I congratulate you, my friend, on your emergence as the Traditional Ruler of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom."

In his response, Chief Ogbonna appreciated the monarch for the opportunity to partner with him for the progress of the 2 communities.

He stated that the visit was a way of instituting a working partnership with the community for their own good.

On his plans for his community, Chief Ogbonna assured that efforts are in place to mobilize investors into the community to come and tap from their agricultural endowments.

However, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr was voted as the ìgwè elect of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State on the 14th of January 2024, an event that signaled the end of a 24-year wait for a traditional ruler of the community.


Furthermore, Chief Ogbonna emphasized the importance of education and healthcare in community development, pledging to prioritize initiatives aimed at improving these sectors for the benefit of all residents.

Lastly, he expressed his commitment to fostering peace and unity within the community, highlighting the significance of collaboration and cooperation among its members to achieve common goals.

Born in the year 1968, Chief Aloysius Chidozie Ogbonna Jnr is an alumnus of Government Secondary School Tangaza Sokoto State, Enugu State University of Science and Technology Esut, as well as the Chief Executive Officer of Eaglewatch Security and Cleaning Services Cc, Divine Watch Security and Cleaning Services Cc, and OGB Investment, RKC PTY Ltd all based in South Africa, amongst others.
