PLS IF YOU FIND ERROR IN THIS POST CORRECT IT. Many people in this forum know more than me. Frankly speaking I'm only telling you what I know. Now @Joe, if you're browsing free already on your mobile set, though I dont know which APN you use. there are other ways but check this out first. It works fine for me:
1. (Ignore ya PC Suite) On ya PC, go to the control panel and select Network connections. If you havent configured ya modem for the first time, WINDOWS will demand it first. If you have, then go to step 2.
2. In the Network connections window, you will see only ya LAN if there's no existing connection. On the left side of the window, click on "CREAT A NEW NETWORK CONNECTION". A connection wizard will come up.
3. On the wizard dialogue box, click next> click next again> tick set up my connection manually and click next> click next again> On ISP name, enter anything and click next> For pswd and usename, type wap in the 3spaces provided. You can choose to make it ya defult connection> Click next and choose to add shortcut and click finish. 4. You're not good to go now! Now dial the the connection. Normally it connections but "cannot fine server"-dont mind him. Open your Internet explorer.
5. Click on tool> scroll to internet option and select> on the dialogue box, click on CONNECTION tab> you will see the name of ya connection-if its not highlighted, highlight it and click the properties> on the properties box, tick "Automatically detects settings". Then tick "use proxy server". In the space provided, enter the IP: 172.018.254.005 and then the port: 8080> click OK untill all boxes close. Restart your browser and you're good to go.
As I said earlier, there other ways many here know it. without the help of Nairaland I FOUND out how to browse free with Celtel on my mobile, then on my pc. The MTN free browsing I DONT know it and those who know it cant help us 4free! Why I still want the MTN stuff is when I'm not in Lagos. But here in Lagos I use Celtel and OKTWINS GLO!
