You might want to look at the large ocean in-between the two countries before boarding train.

Tuition $ 36,000.00

Deposit $ 4000.00

Hey, was it $4,000 that you paid to the Embassy to get your visa approved? Did you in any other way pay money against the tuition to your school? I have a school that my program commands $28,000 tuition. Am just wondering!

$4000 paid to the school to confirm my enrollment and not to the embassy.

Okay. So Embassy never asked you to deposit to the school before visa approval? Thanks!

It's advisable you even make the deposit, without which no school is gonna issue you a CoE; which is a pre-requisite for SVP. I would advise you contact your school on the correct deposit required to be issued a CoE.

And to answer your question. No, the embassy would not require you to make any deposit, but that would imply that would treat your visa application as level 3-4, which would extend your visa processing time

@jenny.. pls i asked a question but you're yet to reply, maybe you didn't see it. my situation is this, i will like to do a TAFE course in aussie which runs for 6 months so definately i will be given a 6 months visa. now after the 6months program i have intentions to do a masters degree in aussie and that runs for 1 year. my question is this, can i extend my visa while i'm still at aussie or would i be required to come to nigeria to re-apply? pls i need your response.. thanks a lot sis!
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 8:12am On Jan 30, 2013
Why don't you do an 18 months master degree instead? Depending on how quick you get another admission and when The school session starts , you might be required to go home and come back.

Let me explain, if you do a course from February -June and hope to start a masters degree program February the following year, the immigration will not let you stay in Australia for 6 months doing nothing. You will need to go back to Nigeria and come back later.

If you decide to do a masters course July the same year as your diploma, you will need to apply earlier to the school of your choice and pay your firs semester fees at least 2 months before it starts. So you literally have no time to relax after Coming to Australia cos you will be running around to make sure your master fees is paid in advance at least when you start your diploma.

Also semesters here are not 6 months, there are like 4 months

Thanks Jenny. Am up against M.Sc,Computer Sc and that goes for like 2yrs. Why would I want to do PGD first when am qualified for M.Sc and avoid visa updating and stuff? May be cost of doing non-M.sc could be way lesser huh. But if you can't get in M.sc straight,TAFE or PGD could come in handy. Am not belittling any oh!

@ Ferdimako

True. I don't know if I have said this before or not but now people go for 2 years study and in regional areas. I you have studied for 2 years, you can apply for your permanent residence yourself.

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 5:20am On Feb 01, 2013
Every student here gets a work permit for 20 hours a week for the duration of their course/visa.

As per school, sorry I can't help you there. I stated earlier that I dont research schools for people they have to do that themselves. I am happy to discuss the chosen schools with people and give my advise on which to go for.
