I need help. I have an Etisalat MiFi router on which 5system can browse. 2 of d desktops don't detect wireless network but has d facility for it(wifi icon on d task bar, but the icon is crossed with red). How do I make these desktops to detect my mifi device?

There are some issues that could cause the PC's nt to get connected

1 either U̶̲̥̅̊® PC is nt given an IP address that is recognized by the router

2. U̶̲̥̅̊® OS might be corrupt or not genuine

3. U̶̲̥̅̊® network adapter might be faulty or not configured properly.

So u really need an engineer to help you sort dis problem.

Do these machines by chance have a "power button" for the WLAN? For if its in the OFF position, you would get that red-cross sign you describe.
You could state the brand and model of your laptop, so we can help check it out for you as well.

I would think the desktop has driver issues or the wireless interface has been disabled, would need to enable it. Most unlikely cause could be that the wlan chipset does not support your router device (10% chance of possibility)

Thank you sirs, for your help. I got a wifi USB dongle for the desktop and have been able to connect via it.
