Hello Landers,

Can any body help me on information on what it will cost me to set up a cyber cafe of 20systems.

i need an estimated breakdown of the cost from experience colleques.

Is there any company that can render this service in terms of loan.

i mean any ISP that can provide all the necessary equipment with their money.

Thanks

Firstly, types of system determine the price. If it is just to set up with a P3 systems, you can get each at the rate of 25k.

Secondly, concerning you seeing an ISP to sponsor you, the possibility, i cant talk on that.Cincerning ISP to provide service, that depend on the location. It will be better for you to get an ISP that their coverage covers your location.

Lastly, i will suggest you make friends with people in that field in your area before jumping into the business unless, you might be forced to bounce out if care is not taken.

@esilove.

You want to be careful about cybercafe business.
I ran it for almost 3 years and I closed shop.

Your main challenges will be:
NEPA/PHCN and your need for generator and cost of fuel - that was my biggest challenge
Fraud by your customers/ staff in collusion
Competition from upstarts who are ready to put money in the business simply because they see volume ( browsers coming in and out) without finding out if you really make profit - and then cause you dilution of market - they will probably crash before you do, but new ones will replace them.
You need also to be aware that elements of law enforcement agencies will try to make money out of you, claiming there are cases of 419 emanating from your cafe
Lastly many ISPs will cheat you on bandwidth.

I discovered I have more peace of mind after closing shop and I am making more money out of stocks than I projected I would make from the cybercafe.

Knowing also you are setting up in PHC, I suspect you will likely get problems from community boys.

If you are still intent on setting up, you can contact me for cheap fairly used monitors, PCs and UPSs

nypurr nailed the points. I wished I heard this kind of advice before I tried my own shop at Owerri. I packed up so fast. Even my workers were making deals in front of me. If you are technically inclined with the ability to watch the place like a hawk then you have nothing to worry. You can buy a diesel generator and produce your own fuel. Fuel cost should be the least of your problems.
