Jubby: @poster you actually did a good job but its very hard to convince people in this part of the world because of numerous reasons. NOTE even you the poster missed it by putting the first TIP as the last TIP,knowing GOD should always be the number one key point or tip to becoming wat every you desire. Mates try this out and feed me back our replies because it as worked for me.

You are right and so OP right as well but most of those wealthy peeps doesn't take God serious as most are ATHEIST.

Got that?

You sound too negative to succeed. I totally align with the poster. Today, my mates wonder how it all happened. I commend the poster for refusing to flaunt his achievements. I know a guy who at that age of 30-31 already lives in his built house.

1. Savings is very important to an intending success. Self denial is very essential when you have a goal in mind.

2. Daily repetitive affirmation of your goal is as strong as achieving it. When you know what you want, you have already achieved it 50%. The poster listed ways to go about achieving your dreams.

3. You must also do away with time wasters and wet blankets. Most times you wont have friends because people around you cannot flow at your frequency nor see what you see.

4. I remember a statement by Bill Gates. Someone asked him, ''Sir, 20 years ago what were you seeing? The master replied, ''20 years ago, I was seeing beyond the reach of my physical eyes''. If you cannot see what other people do not see, you are ordinary.

5. The road to success is fraught with so many challenges. You must remain fearless and courageous in the face of adversity. Even when things arent working out as planned, ''remain positive''.

6. Ambition. An intending success is always restless and always feels he has not started no matter his level of achievement. Whenever your ambition starts dieing, your success starts sloping.

Just too many to list.
You have read a lot. Keep it up

Billyonaire: There are no rules to becoming a millionaire, cos a million naira isnt really money anymore. A lot of people say they havent made a million before. When the real truth is, they have been making millions but havent really saved a million. Many Nigerians spend more than a million in months without knowing, even the Okada riders, bus drivers etc. Because they fail to maintain an account of their expenses and income. Becoming a millionaire, is very simple, but staying a millionaire is what needs rules.

Absolutely right. I made my first million at 27 and lost 2million at 28 to the stock market crash. I started afresh. People cannot save. That is why they remain on thesame level for years. I do not engage in marathon savings anymore because i want to enjoy my money now. Be it as it may, I can never spend my Capital. I live within my income. Figures are always on my mind.

Passion is ultimate.

Yea i take this as the first joke of this morning, do you think the op is a millionaire?

How much is a million You cant drag everyone down to your level. You see boys driving good cars which are above a million or living as bachelors in their built houses. Did they buy those things with sand

Typical shallow mentality, so those driving good cars and living in their own houses got their money by following these 5points? People employed by good companies are not driving good cars and living in their own houses?

There is no defined way of becoming a millionaire, many become millionaire without following those 5points.

zenatta: Once, I read the book, 'Think and Grow Rich'. I got nothing, I was deflated. However, I had read the book searchingly, re-reading lines and pages and reading unhurriedly so what I read stayed with me. Often I would re-call or call up a certain axiom in the book and mull over it,now and again, over and over and over and again, that was how I got 'delivered'. Many here want a concreteness, a how, a show,a telling that has been told, that is so, so glaring in this thread already and believe me when I say these are the 'softest', most amateurish discussions on how to create wealth, but, even this offers much.

THINK AND GROW RICH is the best book to free ones mind to acquire wealth. The book said so many things i believed from childhood. It expounded on my beliefs and i couldnt say much when 6months after reading it, things started happening.

victorian: Hello
guys, the 5 pointers the poster mentioned of, is so true. I am a living
testimony of being a successful enterprenuer with all sense of modesty.
I started from scratch by following the first rule of knowing your skill
and acquiring it. I graduated from a good state university, 7years ago.
Immediately i was done with school. i decided to followup my true
passion in an aspect of art and creativity. My mum knew about it, since
when i was little and she could see my vision. So she had no issue ,
sponsoring me on an extra yr, to learn the craft.I came out in flying
colours, but scared of facing the world and showcasing my talent.
Then she bullied me, into taking the bull by the horns cheesy, saying she
believes i can sell my services, and in what way do i wish to sell it?
Which category of pple am i selling to? what type of platform, will be
ok to start with? I thought deeply about it, gave her the details in
2weeks. She gave me , her own ideas as well, then she shakes her head
and says you are ready...She went ahead, rented an 2bedroom office space
for me, looked at me in the eyes, as she was giving me the keys of the
office and said...Dont fuckup angry. i trust u will do well. I sighed ,
i said yeah ,i guess am now ready for the world grin.
When i started people were sceptical to trust and patronise me,
except customers that that were in dire need of my services, and ready
to trust blindly. I gave it my all and also prayed to Baba God to crown
it with success.
The few people , i started with, loved what i had to offer and how i
delivered. It was totally different from other competitors. The few
ones, doubled cheesy. I then advertised online, talking on different forums
about my skills. Then my client base doubled, tripled...I was in money
grin..
Alot of people , were getting to know and amazed on my skills and my
age.. Most clients get to love and trust me on our first meetings, and
everything fell in place.
I saved money, bought more equipments, re brand and repackage my
product all over again.. Contracts started coming, it has been very
hectic but rewarding.. And i will say, since then...i had to cause to
regret... i live so comfortably like a married woman. smiley..
I thank God, sha..... God is good... and God bless my mum , a million
folds..She is a bully but she is my angel kiss
You can still make it, if only you try.
wow!!!
This is nice...
What kind of art work do you make?

This piece is a wonderful one,but I must tell you,it will only work in a well organized environment where the rule of law is fully upheld and,not in a lawless & highly corrupt society like Naija where your skills/ideas are flagrantly undermined by the broken system(eg no power supply to aid your production),life savings of prospective go-getters embezzled by bankers at will or on the other hand rubbished by the inflation rate, hard earned investments of hard working people freely debased due to lack of proper regulations and oversight, can go on with all these inimical factors if only time permits.I'd only advise you stay focused and not discouraged as you follow your passion in life,as contentment with little is better than riches not well deserved.

Baba, you are on point. Everyone has something to offer but the fear is security. This is the singular reason why most graduates dont pursue their talents. Will it succeed? Where is the money to start? Should I get a loan? Who would loan me? What if the business fails? Wont I be in more worse situation than this? I've got skills but should I leave my 20 years of pursuing petroleum engineering education for these uncertainties? Just thought aloud cos that's my dilemma now...
Take the risk and kill fear before it kills you.The oil company you are hoping to work for was established by people and not spirits. If they have been afraid of failure as you are now,the company will not exist. So since you say you have skills,do something with your skills and you will be surprised how successful we will be.

inspire101: 1). Have a skill: I see most people moving about with Bsc without any skill….Some even go cap it with Msc from Uk or wherever but Unfortunately, they were not taught that employers don’t pay u 4a certificate….they pay u 4d value u can add to an organization! Now, let me ask you sincerely…Do you go to the market to buy what you don’t need? If you were the employer, would you employ a “valueless” staff?

2). Create a product/service: Create a product or service and charge a fair rate….even if you will still go look for a job. Make sure you carry a solution to someone’s problem (could be a potential employer or end-user). Exchanging your time for money is a short term strategy…Don’t ever rely on that as your income. Your skill is the only thing that would guarantee a continuous flow of income.

3). Save as if your life depends on it: Listen my friend, to arrive too soon is to arrive too small. Don’t be moved by the pressure to look like the Jokes and the dejis. Live within your means. Paying bills without paying yourself is the number 1 secret to financial suicide. There will always be a reason not to save…so do Save, save and save at every opportunity you have.

4). Invest Wisely: A fool and his money would soon part ways. Avoid funny schemes. Run away from “Get rich quick programs”. High yield investment programs come with high yield of loss and disaster. Your race is a marathon and not an 100meters dash. Seek to understand the dynamics of investment before getting involved.

5). Know God: Understand that there is an infinite intelligence that oversees the affairs of the Universe. That you and I have his spirit within us and we can achieve a lot more that we are achieving if there is an alignment with this source. That he that dwells on our inside has no religion or skin color. That he hears our deepest thoughts and aspirations. Share your thoughts with him, whatever you conceive him to be and I am sure he will strengthen your desires.

There are a lot more but these are the basic principles I set in motion about 6years ago.I am 30years old now and I can tell you that i have achieved many of my financial goals.

Are there people here who have tested similar principles and would like to share or add to these ones…kindly go ahead.

stay inspired.
these is nice, but you can get more tips from www.standardlives.

Billyonaire: I need someone to teach me how to become a trillionaire. Been searching for that. To be a millionaire, its easy. Find a service or product to export, the foreign exchange sends you into millionaires class within a couple of months. To be a billionaire, use your millions to buy 2 houses in Lekki or Ikoyi, use the houses as collateral in 5 banks to borrow billions of naira and invest in real estates, importation, exportation, manufacturing and construction but can someone teach me how to become a trillionaire ? May be I should buy oil wells from Equatorial Guinea and Ghana grin grin grin
You spoke like a billionaire. Are you really one?

Do not rely on certificates.
In addition, acquire a skill that solves problems.
People pay for solutions, not your certificate.

I want to say a big thank you to everyone for sharing out “of the abundance of their heart”. This post would have been a “bad outing” without the criticisms. The least that all these responses have achieved is that it will help the users of this forum see this topic from a broad range of perspectives!

I am amazed when I said proven and some people are asking for proofs. I have been asking myself quietly…. how do you proof you are a multi-millionaire to someone online? What is the advantage of even trying to proof this? Let’s assume I proof it and you still doubt me, what next? Let’s also assume you believe me, what do we do about it? What is your yardstick for accessing or knowing a multi-millionaire even if we decide to meet…..I understand that there are lots of “average Nigerians” here and you may want to take a test on yourself by following this post www.nairaland.com/1055210/average-nigerian-run-test-yourself

I must also be quick to add that the tips I shared here are not cast in iron and stone. It means that you can achieve a multi-millionaire status without using any of the five tips I stated here…What works for Mr. A may not work for Mrs. B 100% of the way or time….it is just morally right for me to share only what gave me the results that I have today.

Some even said that I am here to market and sell a product, I have been asking myself when marketing and selling a product has become a crime? For those who are like me who don’t mind marketing and selling their products and services here on Nairaland. You may want to see these 6 valuable strategies from this post https://www.nairaland.com/1055935/6-valuable-strategies-market-sell

If you desire that we learn, share and grow together....You may want to consider attending the “financial intelligence for smart people group mentorship program”. You can follow this link below to go get the details.

DailyNews: @OP, God will continually bless & increase your wisdom. This is among the best piece I have read on nairaland, so inspiring indeed.

Wealth lies in our passion & talents not really in our qualifications & certificates! Even though I am presently working for someone as an employee, my colleagues fear me cos my income is never limited to my monthly income- by the grace of God, I do some legal online businesses that earn me extra cash monthly, though not so much but good enough to pay some ppls salary. Aside that, I am still brainstorming day in day out on what solution I can render to the ever increasing Nigerian population & I always monetize every little opportunity that comes my way, lol.

Recently, I discovered a solution to a major problem in Nigerian industrial sector, which has made so many coys to shut down, but the problem I am having now is not finance to fund the project before marketing it to the targetted users, but the technology to bring this to reality which I am still researching. Wished Nigeria have smart engineering dudes who can perform wonders, would have partnered with them, & believe me, we will be celebrated like kings in Nigeria. I am still researching though, thanks for inspiring me again poster. God bless u, & who said being close to God is a waste?

There are bunch of young talented Engineers in UK that are not afraid to exploit other countries, even though its Nigeria (considering the reputation). Find a good website and post your business intent, who knows, you might hit a jackpot.

Doing business still remains the only sure way to financial freedom, considering the ease with which you can start on your own. No capital is required, no experience is needed, no office is needed. All you need is a computer with internet connection plus your ideas.

You doesn't sound like a millionaire just a regular old Joe trying to make ends meet. There is no magic formula, just regular savings over a period of time but when it's all over will it really matter,or like Kahil gibran says "you're just the holder of a money bag."
