Nearing completion? Is this not the same gas plant Tinubu is coming to commission today? If it is, please they shouldn't bring that Dangote Refinery politics to Imo State. It seems he's looking for projects he will use to celebrate his one year in office.

Allow companies to complete their projects and you can commission the completed project later. The news report even stated that Tinubu would commission two gas projects in Imo State and one in Delta State.

With the enormous oil and gas resources and tourism potential that Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta corridor holds, Imo State can make a lot of money from there and even transform it to a tourism destination in the state. Imo State GDP and IGR will be huge in the coming years.

Recall;
In December 2023, the senator Imo North senatorial, Senator Patrick Ndubueze, initiated a Tripatied Solution to Solving the Power problems in Imo & Abia States.

Imo State, Abia State & Ministry of Power/TCN amicably agreed to finally put to rest the completion of Mbalana Power line from Abia to Okigwe and Installation of a substation with immediate effect.

The delegation to the meeting was led by His Excellency Governor Alex Otti of Abia State & Imo State represented by Senator Patrick Ndubueze & Hon Chidi Nwogu.

Task force delegate present. The Power Minister, Hon Minister Adelabu led the Ministry team and the MD of Transmission Co, Engr Abdulaziz leading the Technical issues...

Also present in the Abia delegation were the Commisioner of Power . In attendance were the Technical Adviser to the Hon Minister and The Adviser to Gov Otti. Mr Chika ofili.

The TCN also had the ED Technical & all relevant GMs present.

With the relevant contractors handling the project, all matters relating to right of way diversion and compensation were resolved and a completion timetable set for the Mbalana Okigwe line and solution proffered for the Umuahia , ohafia, Arochukwu line.

Great. If the Amaraku Power station of Mbakwe was spared by that useless military gov then, the station should have become an additional power source to this.

You sound like a fool all the time. Nigeria has economic challenges and Imo particularly that axis has security challenges which the government had to hurdle through and build the road. Can you face me in real life to call me boy of any politician? Stop fooling around

Security challenges? Have you before 2020 ever heard of Security challenges in this Orlu side of Igbo land? That's the part of Igbo land which had for ages been the most peaceful part of Igbo land.
If you are not a very tricky fellow, obsessed with continuation of your insecurity challenges in the area to forestall government development works in the area, why couldn't you ask yourself how come your so-called Security challenges suddenly emerged in the area?
By always magnifying your security challenges in the area, you leave no one in doubt about the possibility that your lot could be behind the insecurity.

Insecurity in other parts of Nigeria has not hindered government from doing development projects in those areas. Government is there to either nip insecurity in the bud, or crush it.

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with a prominent foreign investor to spearhead waste recycling initiatives within the state. This is a significant move towards environmental sustainability and economic development of the State.
According to the Governor, the company will be leveraging cutting-edge recycling technologies and innovative approaches as the partnership endeavors to transform waste materials into valuable resources, thereby mitigating environmental pollution and fostering a greener, more sustainable future.
The MOU outlines a comprehensive framework for collaboration, including the funding, operations, and management of the waste recycling initiatives by the company.

Ironically, even if all campuses are relocated to O-kigwe, the acronym "FUTO" won't change..lol
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Broveens42(m): 11:41am On May 11
Here are highlights of my proposal for okigwe zone.

*Seek private/public/legislative support for establishment of research institutes
* Develop a world class fruit farm for export
* Create a film village dedicated to high quality Igbo movies, that would rival Hollywood; the aim is to narrate this beautiful Igbo culture as seen in "afaméfùnà" (nwa boi)
We can make a movie about "the new yam festival(iri ji) , narrate scenes where people were even beaten for eating yam abroad
* Seek private/public support for certain international sport around the rolling hills of okigwe
* Build a world class stadium for international events
* Relocation of Federal Secretariat and all federal MDAs
* Encourage real estate by building modern roads with side walks, etc

It won't work, FUTO is sitting on large expanse of land that is still largely underdeveloped...

Rather they should lobby to have new University in Okigwe preferably a Federal University of Health Sciences just like the federal government established new ones in Benue, Bauchi Osun states...

They are already plans to establish or convert the Federal Dental College Enugu into a Health University also but I think it would be better to convert UNTH Ituku-ozalla to a full university of health sciences with the Dental College as a campus then revert UNTH to Nsukka where it was originally domiciled.

I am wiser than you, at least, of all persons. If clamouring for what my Orlu hometown deserves from govt is stupidity, I will be happy to be stupid before you from Awomamma, or before anybody else.
People in Awomamma/Oru nation, as well as in nearby Orlu/Isu clan, are relocating to Owerri in droves because there is no state or federal institution or establishment to induce human and economic development in these two areas. Owerri zone is practically turning to one modern city because of the govt development institutions scattered all over Owerri zone where politicians understand the importance of government institutions to modern development.

@retdCivilservant

Now see how true politicians from Okigwe senatorial zone are struggling to have a campus of FUTO in Okigwe.
For years, the Vice Chancellors of FUTO and IMSU had been persons from Orlu senatorial zone. Because of land problems between FUTO and natives, as well as for distribution of govt institutions all over Imo state, all pleas to those VCs and to politicians from Orlu zone to approach the federal government to have a campus of FUTO in Orlu zone, fell on deaf ears. Most of Okigwe zone is a stone throw from Abia state university, and reaps the fruits of nearness to Abia State university in Uturu-Okigwe.
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Amah70: 5:01pm On May 11
@rtdCivilservant
Your Oru is a stone throw from the so-called KO Mbaadiwe University in Ogboko.
But today, there is no more motorable road to the university.
IMSUTH in Orlu has been disactivated by gov Hope Uzodinma. He struggled more than any of his predecessors and got a federal university teaching hospital in Owerri.
Like you, once those VCs of FUTO and IMSU and some of the so-called politicians of Orlu zone have a house in Owerri, their native hometowns and people in them in Orlu zone can go to blazes.
So-called politicians from the so-called Orlu senatorial zone are rather fighting one another. Iberiberism. One is now most preoccupied with stripping Orlu Municipal LGA bare of any government establishments.

As I'm viewing these pictures, I'm just seeing the highbrow area of Lekki and Ikoyi in Lagos. Owerri is setting a standard I like. The developers in Owerri tend to have a very decent sense of architectural style. At this rate, taller buildings (12 to 18 floors) will soon start springing up.
