Recent flooding is not happening in Nigeria alone. If you have cable TV at home and watch news you will see that there has been flooding in over 10 countries in the past 3 months. It is Climate Change and Global warming. The Glaziers at the Poles are melting fast and the excess ocean water flows through seas to tributories and end up at the delta regions all over the world. Nigeria is a delta topograph. EarthQuakes and Volcanic Eruptions are different things all together.

Although earth quake is not peculiar to nigeria, I harbor that fear mainly due to the ikeja cantonment bomb blast.
I was at ijanikin in lagos and I felt sligt vibration of street light, I attributed it to thunder, people at ikoyi that ocean separated them from mainland said there louvers rattled, and my people in surulere said alarms were going off.
The underground vibration of that massive explosions that sent shock waves through the earth to a wide area could weaken the earth here and induce a quake over time.
But we won't experience earth quake in nigeria on God's grace; not with substandard houses with mainly sand and little cement here.

I can c it happening in the nearest future. Nothing is impossible on earth and definitely we would deny the truth cuz we r blind like those ppl Noah called to enter the ark after warning them that God was gonna destroy the world with water but they laughed and cursed him.

Nigeria may be sitting in an aseismic region and that makes the chances of an earthquake remote or next to none but we can't totally rule out the possibility of an occurrence; in fact, earthquakes have happened in different parts of Nigeria in the past albeit on a small scale.
There are disasters that happen and scientists call them anomalies and then investigate to discover a new pattern. Y'all should pray that Nigeria is never used as a case study for any such "new trend" disasters.
Whether it is earthquake, hurricane, flooding, tsunami or even Boko Haram, my main worry is with the readiness and level of preparedness of our emergency services; I can't even imagine what a large scale disaster in Nigeria will look like and I pray we never experience any. Scientifically this is close 2 impossibility. . .cos the seismic risk of that In Nigeria,and most of Africa at that is relatively low,i'm nt saying it cannot occur,but its very very unlikely especially In Naija,what u might get are minor earthquakes and definitely not what ur describing

there are no plate boundaries In africa for two 2 collide resulting in an earthquake
