It happened once. I had a restless sleep that night because of my younger brother's health.
My Father and elder brother came to tell me that my younger brother is dead. He had Leukemia (Blood cancer).

My dad instead does the talk under a tree outside the house late into the night...while my mum would do hers about 6a.m in the morning.

Middle of the nite is the best time you can discuss with me. During the day time I am always busy at work and after getting home you bet am already fast asleep at 9.00/9.30pm, But any time from 12.30 to 4.30am I am always awake. Wired rite? Well it is a bad habit I got use to while in secondary. Even my dad who is now late knew that that was the best time zone to discuss something meaningful with me.
The unfortunate part of my routine is that it's affecting my relationship with my wife. While we both get back home abt 8.00/8.30 pm, she often still have to take care of the children and often still watch the Africa magic till abt 11.30/12am. This is about the time I am preparing to wake up. This is causing alot of communication problems btw us cos we hardly had the time to talk. The longest time we spend talking together is while coming from work in the traffic, but now that we use separate cars because she is now a nursing mother. We are now strangers. I have tried so hard to switch to her routine but it is not just working for me.
Please I need someone advice quickly has I know this is not helping our 3 yrs old marriage.

1 rule: Dont wake me up at night to discuss whatever crap you've got in your skull, I may just make fun of you and blame it on sleep and extreme fatigue the next morning

Wake me bawo? How am I to concentrate and assimilate whatever they are saying? I won't be able to fall back to sleep till like two hours after the talk. And you want me to be happy seeing you sleep whilst I do watch-night? Moreover when I do wake up, it will be with a full blown headache and I can assure the person that their life will not be the same for the rest of the day.grin. Don't wake me o,unless it is for extreme and urgent reasons!

Oga there's something about this your ''unfortunate routine'' like you said o, it looks like it HAD something to do with Mtn Midnight calls..Anyways, i'm more concerned about your marriage, hope you'll find a way to balance everything(work & your marriage)

It works most times. The dead of the night is a period when the brain is at rest and every body system in a relax mode.My mum and dad employed that when I was growing up and it worked. Now,I am a better person.Moreso, pls dnt try it with tenagers/adults who walk in their sleep 'cos you might have a case of a missing persons.
