Somali football stadium: African Union urged to leave.


The Somali Football Federation (SFF) has asked African Union troops to vacate the national stadium so it can be used again for sports events.

Mogadishu Stadium was immediately occupied by militia when the civil war began in 1991 and has been a base for various armed groups over the years.
An SFF official told the BBC the request was made on an official visit to inspect the stadium on Tuesday.

The security situation in Mogadishu has improved over the past year.

The African Union (AU) force and Somali government army drove the al-Qaeda-aligned al-Shabab group from the capital in August 2011.

Correspondents say although there are still occasional attacks since the militants withdrew, people have been reconstructing shattered buildings across the battle-scarred city.

Somalia: 'Al-Shabab weapons seized in Puntland'


Al-Shabab merged with al-Qaeda in February and the two groups have long worked together.


A large consignment of arms destined for suspected Islamist militants in north-eastern
Somalia has been seized, a regional governor has told the BBC.

Abdisamad Gallan said a boat said to have come from Yemen delivered sealed sacks full
of land mines and artillery.

Correspondents say this is one of the biggest seizures of al-Shabab weapons.

The discovery was made after a tip-off from residents in Qandala, a coastal town
in the semi-autonomous region of Puntland, Mr Gallan said.

The al-Shabab group says it wants to strengthen its presence in Puntland.

The al-Qaeda-aligned group once dominated all of central and southern Somalia,
but has now lost all the major towns it once controlled.

If the Failed States Index were a championship, then Somalia would be the undisputed four-time champion. In the seven years of the Failed States Index, Somalia has had the ignominious distinction of occupying the worst spot for the past four years straight... The country as a whole still manages to score badly enough to make up for that glimmer of unrecognized hope.

Worse still, the country is in no danger of losing its position anytime soon. A combination of widespread lawlessness, ineffective government, terrorism, insurgency, crime, abysmal development and a penchant for inconveniencing the rest of the world by taking their merchant vessels hostage has given Somalia a score that neither Chad, Sudan, Zimbabwe nor the Democratic Republic of Congo can hope to match.

80 Percent of the world is not black or white. Asians make up 70 pecent of the worlds populations and are not black nor white.
Furthermore black and white are not races. they are colors. no one is really black or white in color. those are socio-political words created in america because of its unique history and due to its many immigrants.
Secondly, you have further used this black and white theory and ingrained it in your culture simply because of American society. No other society has labels such as black or white. only european countries and the countries they enslaved have this notion.
