Yesterday was a tough day for me when i got home and met a girl crying beside my house, she told me how she had being sleeping in a primary school for two days without food,and how her biological father send her out of his house for being pregnant. This is her story. I lost my mother years back and had being living with my two older brothers and father in Jos,both my brothers are in school and was left alone with my father who was later transfer to lafia in nasarawa state. I was left alone in the house,my father's friend took advantage of that and always molest me. I never told anyone because i was afrid no one wil belive me.about a momth a go my father moved me to his present place in lafia where i discover i was pregnant. I got to know my dad's girlfriend which i told her everything ,she then told my father and he confronted his friend which he denied it saying, how can he do such.my father send me out and told me never to come back again,his girlfriend begged bt he refused.my brothers and other relative phone numbers are in my school bag which i left behind,now i dont know anyone here i just want to go to my uncle's house in lagos. Now what do i do,mind you the said father is a policeman and that means trouble, i taught of handing her over to the state social services by monday but stil want to hear your noble opinion my fellow nairalanders pls advice

This is why Nigerians(children and adults alike) need to be seriously enlightened. Here is a 16-year old girl molested and refuses to tell anyone of it. Now that the secret is out, who does she expect to believe her? I don't blame her per say but parents need to learn to raise their kids better.

This is a sad story Nigerian women/girls need a voice so just because, the fathers friend denied the molestation then she has to suffer the consequences alone SMH! at 16 she shouldn't have been left alone for a long period of time like that anyway. I think the right thing to do is to contact social services or help her contact what family she has in lagos.

O gosh,i feel for this girl,am not sure but i think some churches have social services for kids like this.if she is not properly taking care of and left on her own she will deliver d baby and dump d child on d streets and some warped men can lure her into prostitution to take advantage of her.i wonder why some men are like this,your own daughter? i'm so sad reading the girl story, my own opinion is that the girl father is to be blame because why on earth will you leave a matured girl all alone in a house for long and after the deed has been done you sent the poor girl packing and he's a police officer for crying out loud (what a cruel being)....
But another thing i will say is didn't he trust his daughter?
Didn't he understand the consequences being lonely?
Didnt he know the kind of friends he keep?...... The father need to answer this simple question in other to know the truth of the matter......

There are social services in Nigerai? Its just that they might lack †ђξ capacity to handle all †ђξ ish put to †ђξm.Some churches run welfare programs that handle this too.Lastly,†ђξ girls father is a low-life stupid illitrate! My 2cents

In as much as a young girl in this predicament should be pitied, Poster you first have to check the veracity of her story in case it's a false plan/ machination to draw somebody in with a "piteous story" and strike in one way or the other. Just saying.

If the story is real, the social services or a good and active NGO should be involved and when the other extended members of her family are finally contacted she may be lucky to have one or two kind relatives say from her mother's side be there for her.
The father wasn't even interested in punishing and correcting the man that abused his daughter or even his daughter's welfare, his pride and honour are more important-----Jeez!
