The military don't know when to say know and when to say yes sir. The politicians are turning our military into something else not to talk of taxi driver pilot. This is a bridge of national security. If a well educated officers can not challenge a politicians that there equipment can only be used for national service not private occasion there is a problem in the Nigerian military force. Secondly if they had bought the right military chopper the Niger delta boys wouldn't be terrorizing the oil sector rather they buy a craft not suit for purpose.

haka_nai: For me i believe alot of things could have gone wrong.If i am allowed to have my way it will be advisable to get the Italian manufacturers of this chopper to come and explain the high rate of accident with there product and why the fatality rate is so high. Alot of machines are made to survive difficult scenario, especially military spec machines and also to reduce risk of fatality.Since i have being hearing this chopper crash in Nigeria,no one has ever made it out a life. Are we sure we are buying the right things for our military/security personnel.
Lets also include following
Human errors to include sabotage and negligence
Mechanical defects from manufacturer and if this can be improved.

You have a point there. and I'm pretty sure an Accident investigation team from Augusta-Westland will be invited to investigate the crash, along with our own AIB and the Navy's team. But I'm not so sure about the report's release to the public by the military.

Anything can happen to any machine anytime, no matter how much attention that machine gets in preventative maintenance. A bolt can break and cause a great fault, now how are you supposed to know that a bolt will broke on you. Machines ain't humans, even humans make mistake much more machines.

But, i must say that the hours clocked on the chopper isn't much at all. and based on that chucked up by both Pilot and co-pilot, i think the air-crew was quite an experienced team. That said, the Navy has already lost 3 of these helos. Therefore, a thorough investigation must be performed.

It doesn't matter even if u r in service it still doesn't give u the right to have access to military gadget for personal use. I'm not worried about the people who used it but who gave the order for a military gadget to be deployed for such use. These is how security are being bridged. Now to the guy that said is dad still use military truck . Well let me ask u a question so it's ok if an ex soldier who works for boko haram now to use the same truck . It's totally wrong these are the things that causes security lapses. Yesterday my mum told me he got fined for using the bus lane. I told her she deserved to be fined for that she said the driver didn't no I said well blame both of yourselves if u r in UK you no body will listen to your excuses because u were in Nigeria doesn't mean u disobey the laws. I could have easily supported her but what is wrong is wrong always be true to yourself .
