are they going to pay u more as C programmer? if d pay is the same I will advise u switch to C because C developer r not easy to come by.there r many Java developers out there than C developers which means u may b well respected being C developer and also d competition is not that intense compare to being a Java developer.
in conclusion it depends on which one will bring u more money, which one u can work with easily but both language r gud. C is number 1 on tiobe programming language ranking follow by Java, follow by c++

from this post, it seems as if you already know C. Are you asking if usage of C will remove the knowledge of java from your memory?

Regarding C, i am a beginner. The question is : Will i still be relevant in the job market if at all i want to leave.

Thanks. In terms of salary i will earn more as C programmer, but as Java programmer i travel around Africa and due to that the pay is equal.

u will surely still b relevant for reall. check programming language trend on internet u will find out that C is very sought after language.
infact if u learn C vry well before u make d switch u will found out that coding in Java becomes a piece of cake cos C is much more difficult than Java.
There is nothing wrong in having knowledge in both of them, that will even improve ur market values.
