Urine therapy also called urotherapy refers to various applications of human urine for medicinal or cosmetic purposes, including drinking of one's own urine and massaging one's skin with one's own urine.
It is an ancient form of natural healing baswd on the theory that the solution to every problem is contained in the problem itself,that the body contains its own healing agents.
Some people argue that urine is a wsste product that must be expelled from the system to avoid poisoning but I have heard and read various testimonies of the efficacy of urine in treating ailments such as cancer,skin problems,dandruff and all sorts of other illnesses.
I am tempted to believe the healing powers of this "water of life " but I find the thought of swallowing my own urine veeery disgusting.
Do you know of anyone who has tried the urine therapy and its results?
Can you drink your own urine if its reccomended as a solution to a disease or ailment?
Doctors and health workers here,what's your opinion on it as its unorthodox?

I have also read about it from several books and journals, but still thinking its disgusting for one to be drinking his/her own urine.
I knew of a woman who suffered from a serious sore on her two legs as a result of "eta"(i dont know d english word) who was later asked to be using her urine after spending millions of naira, initially, she refused, she said she prefer to die than consenting to it, when it got to a certain stage, she obliged,but unfortunately, it was too late, it was d second day she agreed to start using d urine that she kicked d bucket.
The essence of my story is that, as we are all saying its bad, its disgusting, its smelly, its unreligious.......blah....blah....blah......., d main thing is for us to pray that we do not find ourselves in a hopeless condition where we will have no other choice, may we not find ourselves in a condition where we will not even know what is been administered on us, may we not find ourselves in a condition that we will not even know what is given to us to eat or drink.
These are my prayers o, because my mum told me of someone who was at d point of death, and someone prescibed that if she could be given feaces to eat, she would survive it, and d child of d person said "iyen o le, ani kiya mi ma ti ku"(that isnt hard, all i want is for my mother not to die), d child went to d toilet and brought d faeces, all of them were asked to leave d place, so that they wont be irritated, but d one that brought d faeces said he was peeping thru d window to ascertain that it was actually d feaces that was given to his mother, and alas, it was indeed d faeces and some other powdered substance(ebu), d man fed d woman with,and later ask them to come back in, and about 20 minutes later, d woman, whom everyone had lost hope on farted, later, sneezed, that was how d woman survived it, according to what i was told by my mum o, but d question is will d woman or even d children would have allowed it if they had another choice than death.

The urine therapy is not only reccommended for hoplessly sick people though.
You know how they say prevention is better than cure.A book says it stabilizes blood pressure,makes memeory sharper,strenghtens libido,regulates menstrual cycle,makes it less painful and the flow normal.The body experiences a new vigour and a general feel of well-being permeates the system.

We never used it but she did and it "worked" for her. Her latest today is energized water, but I digress.

Infact,I am testimony to that.Caught the thing some years back and it was recommended as a fast and permanent treatment.The apollo was gone in less than 12 hrs.

1.With bacterial colonisation around the urethra, it could get contaminated.

2.if the individual has urinary tract infections, drinking the urine could be fatal.

2.Most diseases can be diagnosed via the urine. Anyone to have this therapy would need to be perfectly sure of the absence of any disease. With diabetes for example, there's incr3ased glucose in d urine.

Urine therapy was reccommended to someone close and sick(not very) recently and I got curious and started reading about it.Been interesting so far though I'm told its safer not to get into the depths of its medical angle.
Besides,urine therapy advocates claim that to this day, despite the countless number of experiments performed using urine therapy,
not a single case has been recorded finding unfavorable effects.

Abi o...If there would be anything left in the urine after the series of extraction and filtration done by the systems then i guess it should only be waste products.If the system deemed it fit to use, it would have picked any valuable minerals instead of sending it out as urea.

When you drink your own urine, the water content may not go into your blood stream as your source says but if you had bacteria or other micro organisms present in the urine then they could actually stick to the wall of your mouth or the oesophagus as you take in the urine. I don't need to explain what would happen if such should occur.

And also what ingredients needs to be sorted out again. Something is called a waste product and numerous filtration has been done by the digestive system before the current urine your are "posing" as a healer was purged out of the body.

My sister ,abeg no tangible content exists in the urine and i guess those that it worked for; worked not because it has healing capabilities but because of the extreme measures used and believe system of the person. I guess it's more psychological. I have healed myself of headache just because i believed and used my mind so i guess this may also apply here. But all the same goodluck in your research.

Well, my info might just save someone here! Frankly , I read bat it like u did n used it n it works well;but, it is most effective if u take d first urine in d morning n last at nite. Wenever I feel sick n some how I can't go for test , I take my urine as stated above n it releives me of every ailment. N.B: u hv to be consistent with it for it to work fully.
Haven done some research abt it, I learnt d urine works because it contains dead cells of whtever disease dt exists in ur system n makes u uncomfortable. What exactly is this PROBLEM that people need to drink their urine to solve?

what if you have gonorrhoea or a urinary tract infection and you decide to drink it? there are some conditions where you urinate pus or you have diabetes? will you then drink drink as your new "mineral"?
