www.arikairinc.co.uk set up their website to look like the proper Arik Air site to fool UK customers into thinking that they are buying their tickets from Arik Air UK.

Why would a legitimate business do this?

My wife and I need to tell the world our story so that you don’t fall for the same scam that we fell for.

The scam is simple.
•
They consistently quote really cheap deals on their web page.

•You call them to book

•You offer to pay by credit card, they bump the rate up by 40%

•They ask you to pay into their account

•Once you pay into their account, they start to tell you all sorts of stories about the airline increasing the rate.

•You smell a rat and ask for a refund.

•They start to stall you.

•We have been trying to get a refund now for 13 weeks.

We visited the address and discovered that it is just a holding address. A courier turns up once a week to collect their mails.

The only way to contact them is via their phone number, 0208 150 3482 and 020 7096 0298 once we call, they just put us on hold.
On our last call, we were on hold for 42 minutes and the phone cut off.

• Barclays (our bank) say they cannot help get our money back without a court order

• Lloyds (their bank) say they cannot help us without the account owners consent

• We went to the Police, who asked us to log it with www.actionfraud.org

This happened to my friend March 19 2013. Nigerians should be aware of this scam emanating from Pakistan. He lost #1200 (pounds sterling) for 2 tickets to Lagos and this so-called Max fellow is now stalling in returning his money.

Crazy ..... This is absolutely insane
People need to be more careful and carry out a thorough research before handing over money!
The only way to crush the bloody scammers is to do everything possible not to fall for one in the first instance!

We are retail agent for Arik Air based in UK. The website should not be considered a representation of the airline, rather a means to promote sales.

make sure whenever you book a flight it is ATOL protected - if it is you then go to the ATOL website to see if its actually registered with them (some companies have been known to fake the ATOL certificate on their website)

omg this guys are real fruadsters. I just spoke to them on the phone. They quoted me £695, i told him i want to do bank transfer, the fool said no, he needs my credit card details. i told him i will call back and he told me he just got a new flight price of £640.Men na so person go gawk himself. The guys was angry that i told him i will call back. They cant even speak good English.

Its sounds like they are in one big open space as i could hear other phones ringing in the backgroud.

Arikair directors are bastards. For real. People should not deal with them at all. .Any reputable company will inform thier customers of scams like this but they kept quiet. Look at the websites available for Arik air. A novice will definitely be scammed. How will a novice quickly know which is authentic?

I dont understand how airline company will allow other websites to have name similar to theirs and offer similar service
