My younger brother's colleague @ their Aba branch was kidnapped late last year.when the guy was released a week or 2 later,he recounted how the kidnappers always prayed before they went out for more victims and even openly asserted that some of their partners in crime who were caught around that period met their Waterloo because they didn't pay tithe on their last loot. Its sad to say but crooks can actually use our bible to justify any and every nefarious activity.they only need to cherry pick and quote enough verses out of context. This is from a previous post on religious morality. I am reposting it here because it fits perfectly with the topic of this thread. That is why I have the conviction that religion is a fraud in every way you look at it. Look it at this way: It is a system that encourages fraudulent people to exploit weaker minded people by selling to them(for money) a fraudulent history, fraudulent doctrines, fraudulent and contradictory moral philosophies, greed and personal irresponsiblity, and ofcourse, bigotry and hate. The buyers and consumers of such fraudulent packages, themselves, become enticed and corrupted, substituting their own traditional or homebred sense of responsibility with their new shiny , but worthless product. They then begin to live in , and act out the moral contradictions and delusions of their purchased (more like swindled) faith. Religion, especially the Abrahamic religions, are among the very few philosophical systems that not only act as the perfect camouflage for morally deficient people ,but actually, corrupts and degrades the ethical and moral standards of an individual, simply because the religious scriptures can be easily invoked and interpreted to justify any sort of evil,immoral or unethical behaviour. 2 Likes |

Constant worship and prayers indeed. Who are they praying to? The same God who created heaven and earth? Never! Now if you must know, armed robbers, prostitutes, rituals, witches & wizards, kidnappers (as in this case), gays, lesbians, homosexuals, abortionists, 419 people, Yahoo Yahoo boys, secret cults & secret societies members, idol worshippers etc do pray. Or they don't? Now, for the mere fact that they all pray to whatsoever they believed and serve before any operation, does not implies that, they are praying to God, the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient, the only true and wise God. Revelations 19:6, 1Timothy 1:17, Jude 1:25. Make no mistake. Prayer, according to the dictionary means: 1. The act of communicating with a deity (especially as a petition or in adoration or contrition or thanksgiving) 2. Reverent petition to a deity 3. Earnest or urgent request 4. A fixed text used in praying 5. Someone who prays to God From the above definitions, you will discover that, not every prayer that is said or prayed, is actually being done to the Almighty God. However, irrespective of the tribe, region, nationality, or even the religious beliefs of the one who prays, does not mean that he/she is praying to God. After all, both true and fake Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, ogbonis, illuminatists etc do pray. Thanks and God bless. |
