My Advice For Boko Haram - Afghan President by oloriooko(m): 2:36pm On May 05, 2013 |
Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has advised Boko Haram insurgents in Nigeria to sheath their sword. He gave the advice when Nigeria’s Ambassador to Afghanistan, Dauda Danladi presented his letters of credence recently in Kabul. He called on the Boko Haram members to lay down their arms if they are true Muslims and embrace peace as offered by Government noting that no religion perches violence. “Boko Haram, you should stop burning schools, Mosques, Churches in the name of Islam. You should not destroy your country if you are true Muslims you should protect lives because in Islam if you kill one it is as if you have killed the whole of humanity and if you save life is as if you have save the whole of humanity” He said Afghans have seen the futility of violence and put behind them the ugly past and have now embrace peace through dialogue. He recalled the activities of the Taliban’s saying it was externally motivated and the people were used by the Taliban’s to commit suicide bombing without knowledge that they will becommitting suicide. He said in most cases suicide bombers were given Jacket as a gift containing bombs, on wearing it somebody will follow and on reaching their targets they detonate it. He said Afghans have seen the futility of violence and put behind them the ugly past and have now embraced peace through dialogue. source: http://thenationonlineng.net/new/news-update/90238/

This is what i expected Nothern leaders and other Islamic group leaders in Nigeria to be saying. This what Tinubu, Mungono, Fashola, Aregbesola, Buhari, Tambuwal, Atiku Ciroma and other leaders who are muslims should be saying. But no, most of them gave excuses why BH exists including poverty, illiteracy and unembployment as if Borno people are poorer than Ebonyi people. Violence tears a community down. When all external enemies are eliminated, then turn their sword home wards. This is what VP Joe Biden once called ' a self sustained cycle of violence' |
