Some shadowy power hungry generals and ministers are waiting for Mugabe to steal the elections, then otherthrow him in a coup similar to what Ben Ali did to Habib Bourguiba in Tunisia.
Mugabe will be under house arrest and hardliners will take over and keep the opposition in shamble after killing Tsvangirai.
Mugabe who is being misled by his own rethoric over the long gone indepence era does not realize it.

Robert Down-with-Tony-Blair Mugabe is playing that last desperate hand of cards to which most dictators ultimately resort when the inexorable tide of world opinion combines with election results that put the opposition in power -  selective repression, delay tactics, targeted assassinations and defiant bombast.

Names like Mobutu of Zaire, Mengistu of Ethiopia, Idi Amin of Uganda, Hastings Banda of Malawi and Sanni Abacha of Nigeria come to mind, as yet again an African Big Man, intoxicated by the illusion of his own increasingly tenuous hold on power,  reacts to his inevitable replacement with lofty pronouncements, repression and murder, while secretly preparing to flee in panic before the judge and executioners arrive at his door.

Within the next 12 months, Robert Mugame shall leave his post as President of Zimbabwe, either walking or feet first.

The way I see it, Mugabe has lived his life and should retire. I think he is too old to participate in a future g'ment. And I am sure even if Mugabe wins, others are going to make decisions for him, so basically he would be nothing but a lame duck.

Zimbabwe can rise again. It only takes good governance, a culture of resilience, tolerance, goodwill, trust, and the like for Zimbabwians to pick up the pieces and go again. The moment peace prevails, the moment government sanity returns, then everything else falls into place.
