Is Bullying A normal Rituals Of Passage? by smile4kenn(m): 10:08pm On Apr 29, 2008
Do you remember your first day at school when senior students would ask you to do any manner of things, failure of which would result in you being harassed and in the extreme being hurt?

In some secondary schools, bullying is seen as a 'rite of passage'.

A recent report by a South Africa organisation says nearly 100 children tried to commit suicide after being bullied at school.

Childline says bullying is one of the most prevalent forms of violence in school.

Last year, a head teacher in central Kenya sent 20 uncircumcised students home claiming their condition would expose them to bullying by the other students.

Were you bullied at school or has your child been bullied? Is bullying a rite of passage? How widespread is bullying in your community? Is the bullying different for boys and girls?
