If an acquaintence of the opposite sex says to you, "So you want us to be cool?" what would that mean to you?

Similarly, if someone of the opposite sex said he or she was looking for someone with whom he/she could "kick it," what does that mean to you?
sounds innocuous to me. i think they connote, "I'd like to date you," but I take it they may have individual meanings?.

'Are we cool?' To me that means, are we friends, nothing more, nothing less, sometimes girls misunderstand the things that guys say and that's why they always end up thinking the guy wants to date them, we can just be friends ya know
