Broadband Router or Cisco Router: Which do I go 4? by ochukoccna: 6:53pm On May 19, 2008
[size=14pt]Word Up people
I'm the technical person in my office [an IT academy] and have been looking for ways to break broadcast storms from our LANs
We have 3 lans each having 13,23 and 11 workstations
Disabled the 23 workstation lan to make the traffic bearable but will have to reconnect it soon to accommodate new students
I know a router is needed but Cisco is way too EXPENSIVE
Does anyone know if LINKSYS or CNET or dLINK broadband routers [see them more as switches] break up broadcast domains seeing that's what layer 3 routers [of which Cisco is a king ]does
Thanks
