Am one of those who use to say I will never give bribe until 2006 I went to british embassy,the guy there (gate man ) say for me toget appointment,I hv to give him 30k .Oboy I beg beg till he agreed 20k I drop 5000 with d hope when dey give me visa,ill pay d balance. I was rejected as I was coming out from d hall,I was looking for him but didn't see him.

It's a daily thing, just gave one a few hours now when I went to submit a completed forms. It's d culture here n even globally.

I think to a great extent we are not geting it clear. First of all, whats a bride? And differenciate it from tips and gifts. When u are able to do this, then u will see some of us are very guilty while some are innocent

As at the moment,i have not received but i have given.
Most times,i prefer following due process,though i always wished afterwards that i bribed the person to bypass the slow process.

As a Nigerian,due process is usually slow and patience is the last word in our dictionary. So we end up 'droping something to make it faster.

@OP we dnt call it bribe we call it "roger" or settlement wen ever. Our boss send us to bring goods from ikeja while coming down to egbeda we have given aways up to 3000 to abt 300 policemen and road safety @ evry joint ,corner or traffick yes I collect bribe evry day I dnt call it bribe I call it apriko we usuall steal our boss money and share in btw our sef I hope wit dz few points of mine u are convince

I'm a bit confused about the lexicon to use.I have never received a bribe before,but as per giving not so sure or rather I wish someone helped educate me if an involuntary response as a reflex action to police extortion with the aid of a gun plus the uniform is a form of bribe or outright robbery.I'm afraid it's not,otherwise every law abiding Nigerian had given a bribe..
