While They Were Seated And Relaxed In The
Plane, They Were Informed That The Plane Was Built
By A Group
Of Students From Nigeria's Universities And The Plane
Was On
Its First Experimental Trip... They All Ran Out Of The
Plane, Except One Person, When He Was
Asked By The Other Staff, His Reason For Remaining,
He Said "If
It Is Made By Our Students, It Will Not Even Start...lol.

Give ASUU N1trillion & u will end up making Fagge & his cohort millionaires. FG for the 1st time implements N130b & pledges more next year. For the 1st time we all know the main issues of contineous strike. Many are more involved this time around than ever. It has generated lot of noise from Education sector, labour, Oil & Gas, Religious leaders & bodies & across US. Lets face the truth here, FG won't do more this year. FG will never implement all those agreement we know our gov't. The administration that signed that agreement did so to end strike. So is not like ASUU sat with FG under normal & friendly circumstances to discuss. If ASUU care, they should call off & let all eyes be on FG on what they will do next. 2015 is election year, I believe this guys will do much for Universities before then but definately not this year.

People will be quick to compare Nigeria with developments in India or Brazil but forgets educational dysfunctionality is the backbone of most of Nigeria problem including corruption.
ASUU is trying to correct this and each time they go on strike people will be asking if they have call off instead of asking whether the issues have been resolved to avoid future strikes

So the way to make education functional is by giving ASUU more money? For how long has ASUU been receiving more money and how more functional has the more monies made the universities?

More realistic assessment has shown that the main problem with Nigeria's educational system lies with Primary and secondary school sectors. Why is it that when you read some posts made by Nigerian university students and graduates on YahooNews, CNN, Nairaland, etc., you become so ashamed? Is it not in Primary and secondary schools that people are supposed to get the foundation of English language?
Re: Universities Pull Out Of ASUU Strike 2013 by Yagazee: 9:13am On Oct 04, 2013
I can't believe ASUU has suceeded in making Nigeria students believe that they have solutions to the rot in Universities education. Let me ask YOU; Can you beat your chest that there won't be looting if FG hands ASUU N400b? I guess you can't. Are we blind to the construction of infrastructures going on in various universities? Do you think the universities is the only institutions of higher learning in Nigeria? Is education sector even the only sector in the State? FG makes upto or more than N1trillion a year. Yes you might be correct but lets do a simple maths here. Give ASUU N400b in just a year, how much do you have to run you gov't which includes polytecnics, monotecnics, state gov't budgets, & payments of all civil servants & other development progect. FG said ;"N100b for a year." Yet ASUU is behaving as if you can't start anything with it. The current security threat in the North is making development difficult incase you are deaf or blind to this & security expenses always takes the highest expecially when is under threat. Gov't will not do more this year as we have all seen & will never give all money to ASUU in a year so WHAT DO WE GAIN BY SUPPORTING ASUU STRIKE. If you think FG doesn't care, what makes you think ASUU care either.

spenca:

Well mister you seem to have shot yourself on the foot ,who has come here to say ASUU strike is all about the welfare of the students? If you know the definition of a pressure group which ASUU falls within its paranthesis you wont come here to spill this piece of gabbage ,btw if its even a micro of the student's interest they have at hand its still better than not having any cause that little interest will bring about some development , as a state ,Nigeria would not be where it is today(pit) if the past leaders had put an iota of their interest to the country buh rather they all are selfish with their ways unlike ASUU like u said its not all about the student buh atleast the students are part of it .

So we should support the strike? Let me ask are u a student atall?
Re: Universities Pull Out Of ASUU Strike 2013 by Yagazee: 7:05pm On Oct 05, 2013
Spenca I think you are a lecturer. Its a shame to FG that ASUU has to press for good education. But if you think that ASUU should not take the current deal on table, then you are a fool sir. I support the "no work, no pay" policy. Why will you close your shop & still bask in profit. Its not logical. You are on strike while other sectors generates money for your payment. Monkey dey work baboon dey chop abi? If strike has bitter consequences for both students & gov't, then there should be bitter consequence on the part of lecturers. In that way associations and bodies will stop the "I don't care" attitude of going on strike.

Tony winked at me as he got up to meet her. I just waved at her from where i sat and watched Tony walk up to her with a huge grin on his face. They exchanged small talk as they met and started walking towards me.

As they got nearer, i noticed that they were speaking in their native dialect, which i hoped they would change as soon as they sat. While still standing, Tony continued talking and then looked at me, his body language suggesting that he was telling her about me. I just smiled and nodded as if I understood what they were saying. This is one of the many funny things people do. Just then i remembered Emeka, my friend back in Lagos, telling the story of how he broke his hand a few years ago. Everybody had laughed that day and even he was laughing. I then wondered that at the time he actually broke his hand, it wasn’t funny for him, but telling the story when he had healed was a different case entirely.

Cont. the short story and vote here http://etisalatprize.com/life-is-just-funny/
