Do You Practice What You Preach Here? by Enegod(m): 8:19pm On Aug 18, 2013
We see posts all the time about high
standards, about people's lists of
requirements in a date. Posts about what
people will or will not put up with, about
not being willing to settle. We even see
people post about never wanting get
serious with someone again, or at least
never wanting to get married again. We
frequently see "Dump him!" posts, or "I'd
be outta there so fast!" Most of us have
participated in discussions like this and
maybe even made such claims ourselves.
What about when you're actually dating
someone that you are really into? Do you
find yourself remaining logical? Do you
actually practice what you preach here in
the forum? Or do you find that chemistry
and emotions plays much greater parts in
your choices than you remembered, and
that your willingness to do things or
tolerate things depends on the person
you're with?

This is a faceless forum. Most people come here to try to be what is very unrealistic for them.
In reality, it is very difficult to strongly act what you preach because our lives are determined by many other factors other than our choices. Remember the saying 'easier said than done'. Some post good and moral stuff to maintain their reputation even when they practise otherwise.
Others form saints to attract good girls on nairaland.
Others criticize what is considered bad either because most people are criticizing it, to get in with the popular crowd, to get likes or maybe to confound their confusion.
In essence, this is a faceless forum where a runs girl might tell you that she hates it when girls demoralize themselves by sleeping around.
All those wayo wayo people for nairaland eh, na laff i dey use read their post.

Well I do not preach much. I do know
that MOST women do not practice what
they preach.
Face it IF people practiced what they
preached more people would be dating.

That's a great post. Honestly it depends on the person I think. Some I'm sure have even gone to the length of taking up a completely different identity when online. I for one don't have the time for that kind of stuff. If I post it's when there's time in my life to do so. Therefore I don't even have the time to fabricate or exaggerate my posts. It's all from head to finger tips no mulling around...so ya is team #real for me!

hypocrites to some degree. All depends
on the circumstances.we sometimes post our real opinions
with a little edge to them

Re: Do You Practice What You Preach Here? by Monicasque(f): 10:10am On Aug 19, 2013
In life i have realised how much other people's views matter in helping me make the right decision so before i give advice anytime anywhere i put my self in the person's shoes and wonder how it would affect me if i were on the receiving end. So yes i do practice what i preach. NB: Its never a good idea to advice someone and be telling them '' dump him, divorce him etc'' advice should be about making sure that both sides are treated fairly and logically and ending a particular relationship before exhausting all the possible solutions is never a good idea because love is a matter of the heart and its not some oil company where u can get read of an employee and never miss them

I am blunt online as I am offline. My husband hasn't given me any reason to cuss him out for he is not a fool like most Naitaland boys.

Next question.

True. However I have learned on Nairaland too many people are afraid of ugly truth and harsh realities.
