Hey there,
It's me again smiley looking for some advice as always. So I am curious how long after dating a nigerian man should I be worried if I have not met his mother? (If you need more details just let me know so I can clarify)

Thanks in advance xoxo

Keep waiting still when you grow old. Only then would you understand the significant of meeting his parents earlier. I don't know why some ladies don't use their brain well.

Depends.
The guy won't take every date home, imagine introducing every girl he beds to mum shocked

So the question is how serious is he about you?

It's a mutual understanding that we are in a serious committed relationship

There is not time frame but personally, I believe 6 months is enough (that's if you both agree that you are in a serious long term relationship that is headed somewhere)

I am not Nigerian so in we actually talked about how different our cultures were in the dating part of our relationship. Long story short, he made it know that he doesn't just introduce any woman to his mother only 1 woman has met her before. He also said that if I meet his mum the marriage is not too far ahead and he will want our family's to meet. I was just looking for a generalisation of when that would be because where I come from is so small that if a date a man and tell my mum his last name her or my dad know their parents. So it's not a big deal to meat a mans mother. But thanks anyway for your input grin

You hit the nail right on the head. I thought that was appropriate timing but I know I can be so pushy at times. I will keep a mental note and in a few more months find out what's going in if I have not met the woman that gave birth to such a wonderful man.

I don't think you can really put an exact number on it because what works for one may not work for the other. I'd say when you both feel you're ready to get married and you have both agreed it will be soon, then it wouldn't hurt meeting each other's parents.

Ahah cheesy you again? That was pretty quick haha. And homegirls be crying, searching, stepping into 40's without a man.

Anyway! I don't take no female to my parents unless I'm truly and honestly serious with her cuz my mom is too nice and welcoming to my liking. Just to avoid questions like where is she and what happened and blah blah and blah. I used to do that within 8months -1yr until I noticed that I actually hurt 2 people whenever I end a relationship "my mom and my partner lol"

You welcome....Good Luck and be careful. I'm pretty sure only 6 out of 40 Nigerian men wants to settle with a foreigner for good "especially those born and raise in Nigeria" and that 6/40 are in UK here in the United States hmm lets say 2 and that 6/10 in the UK gotta be from Yoruba tribe. What tribe is he?

^^ that right there says to me he is NOT ready to take you anywhere. Before progressing on to mum, have you met any of his siblings? Cousins? Or even close friends?

One step at a time mami. If you have a mutual understanding and you are both committed to it then you don't have to stress. It will happen in His time. This thing can't be hurried wink

many things u need to consider b4 u start thinking of seeing his mama, u will actually start the relationship with ur head, clear and sure u are save, b4 u bring in ur heart into it and every other good things will start falling in naturally. seeing his mama does not guarantee anything good, for it might even sour the whole thing if u have not perfectly won ur man already, who might have to fight ur course if seeing her turn out to spell doom for u. if u are a believer pray and apply faith; for its all a black market.
