Historically, there used to be hostility between the Jews and the Gentiles people due to their religious, custom and ethnic distinctions. This antagonism persisted within the early Christian community in Ephesus. The Jews looked down on their Gentile counterparts because they were uncircumcised, while the Gentiles would have looked at the Jews as habitual bigots.
Apostle Paul used to share this Jewish view until he saw the light on the way to Damascus.
Ephesians 2:11
“Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.”
What the Jews failed to realize is that circumcision had value only if they obey God’s law. But if they don’t obey God’s law, they were no better than an uncircumcised Gentile. Moreover, if an uncircumcised Gentile obeyed God’s law, they will be of more value than a circumcised Jew in the eyes of the Lord. (Roman 2:25) The same can be said of a Christian who does not obey the Word of God; Idol worshippers will be given more significance than them in the sight of God.
Galatians 5:2
“Listen! I Paul, tell you this; if you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you”
What is God’s Law?
Mark 12:31
“The second is equally important; ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”
How can we apply this love?
One example is by meeting a need. Give to those in need.
EXAMPLE
The Gentile met the needs of the believers in Jerusalem by sending them money for their welfare. They used their offering to break down the wall of hostility that separated them. They applied the “love those that hate you” principle by using good to conquer evil. They planted a seed of love which resulted in unifying both warring parties together in Christ and putting the devil to shame
2 Corinthians 9: 13-15
“As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that your are really obedient to the Good News of Christ. And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you”
When you give to those who hate you and love them despite their enmity towards you, God who searches the human heart shall reward you beyond your imagination.
2 Corinthians 9: 10
Because you have been generous, God will make you a source of generosity (blessing), because he knows that whatever he gives you shall be used to do his divine will.
PRAYER
May the Lord continue to enrich us in every way so that we can always be generous to those in need hence uniting the body of Christ and promoting his kingdom on earth IJMN – Amen !!!!!!!

“For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you”
