Mr. Justin Ramayia, Chief Executive Officer of Multi-Link Telkom has disclosed that the network has recorded over a million subscribers since Telkom acquired Multi Links late last year.

Ramaiya disclosed this at a ceremony to honour the dealers of Multilinks, which he described as the backbone of the telecom firm for the feat.

Telkom acquired Multilinks in 2007, when the subscribers’ base was merely 200,000. Today, barely seven months after acquisition, the figured has soared to over 1,000,000, he said.

Expressing satisfaction with the efforts of the dealers, Ramayia declared that: You have supported us to achieve one million subscribers in our massive expansion drive across the country and we thank you.

Ramaiya further emphasised that following Multi-Links acquisition by Telkom, the management set out clear objectives to quickly change Multi-Links from a small operator to a major player in the ICT arena of the country; promising that the goal will become very evident daily as giant strides are made.

He stressed that in a bid to ensure growth, Multi-Links has installed 269 base stations, 223 towers and grown its fibre deployment to 2,500kms. It has also extended its switch capacity in Lagos and Abuja. Ramaiya also added that Multi links has completed a Metro Ethernet ring in Lagos and has other projects nearing completion in Abuja. He also added that plans are underway for the deployment of Metro Ethernet rings in Kano, Kaduna, and the Delta region.

In appreciation of the continued patronage by dealers, Multi-Links Telkom rewarded its dealers across the country by giving out two four-wheel drive vehicles, 25 motorcycles and 33 HP laptops to dealers with a pledge that it would not cease in appreciating dedication shown by the dealers in its growth process.

The gifts were given out at a dinner in Lagos over recently with Easy & Quiet; and Seaman emerging as the best two dealers of the company
