This has got to be the twitter fight of the Year! Occupy Nigeria group, kept sending tweets at Nigeria's Minister of Finance Ngozi Okonjo Iweala calling her out saying she was irresponsible and that the members of the Honourable house of Representatives, allegedly walked out on her during an interactive session on Thursday, making her look like a joke! The name calling got so bad, that the minister lost her cool and called the Occupy Nigeria group;

"a nattering nabob of negativism"

This worsened issues as fans called out the minister on Twitter saying the reply was uncalled for. It even turned into a jamboree of jesting, as the Occupy Nigeria group, immediately changed their name to the "Nattering Nabob" .... Choi! The battle is still ongoing on Twitter see some screen shots of their tweet fight below;

Why weren't they advocating for fuel voucher instead of subsidy?

Exactly what's on mind . Nigeria economy is performing miracles on papers and charts but in the real world , we have nothing to show for this improvement.

maturity to the highest extend like that can only come from a professional and NOI is definitely one. I respect her so much and remove my cap for her. @ occupy Nigeria, get a life or occupy something else os madam NOI is too matured 4 ur childishnes. Better still, if u are looking 4 response 4rm people go and face FFK, OBJ or tinubu that are currently jobless and would give u the audience u are looking 4

Very hard to fault those guys argument against the Minister.....Nigerians want tangible development reflected in ordinary homes, not developments on charts and power-point presentations.

As usual...the Ibos on NL will rather support the woman by insulting the Occupy Nigeria group.

I see nothing wrong with what the guy is saying. Our GDP is improving yet the standard of living is declining. It's so funny that inflation rate is single digit but the price of garri has never gone down. Then what consumer price index (CPI) did they use to calculate our current rate of inflation.

NOI is unable to account for revenue coming into the federation account. Sure-P funds are missing. NNPC is diverting funds, our debt profile is hitting the trillions and our budget for capital infrastructure is poorly implemented. Yet she claims to be minister of finance and coordinating minister.

Do we turn a blind eyes over these issues? I am surprised she termed the guy as negativism which I consider to be terribly wrong because the guy was only letting NOI know her popularity on the street and not in Aso rock.

That guy is making points but the only thing some us can see is the illogical and out of point reply of the NOI. This is the characteristics of the present day government to criticism, accusation of nonperformance and corruption. NOI did not disprove the guy!!!

God Save Nigeria from economic abracadabra.....education quality is declining daily, health quality is declining, food is expensive, transportation is expensive, power is epileptic, cost of living is increasing daily, insecurity is in the land, our roads are death traps, jobless youths are increasing daily, there is no evidence of good and stable economy on majority of the population..........AND SOMEBODY IS PROUD TO BE THE COORDINATING MINISTER OF SUCH ECONOMY? Hmmmm

It takes just one reply to feed the trolls for a life time.

Ngozi should have known better .

By the way most of these arm chair critics and self described patriots cannot even manage their personal affairs talk less of handling responsibly a National assignment see Baba Iyabo for reference and his latest scandal.

Can you relate any period within your responsible adult life when Nigerian Economy was ever good?

You consume more than you produce.

You depend solely on one source of income to fund everything, a sector which is restrictive to only specialized professionals.

You have states that exist for the sake of thieving governors who do nothing but divert what little is shared into their own personal use and what little project they undertake has little or no bearing to the common man.

You spend more than the U.S. itself to maintain a moribund civil service and corrupt political officers who are part of the problem.

The Fiscal policies are good but the Politicians ,whether by commission or omission, are doing all they can to subvert whatever gains that should have been visible.

State governors are not doing a single thing to attract necessary investors and stimulate growth within their states as their only concern is to award useless contracts for their own personal gain.

Nigerians never cease to amaze me. Please someone answer me. What has a minister of finance got to do with improving the living standards of ordinary nigerians?
The sure p funds disbursement, what did your governors do with them.
Instead of people to attack their governors, health ministers, power, education they are attacking a finance minister.
The government can never put food on your tables except ofcourse you want handouts and food stamps. Go and work and make your lives better.

My grandmother does not understand statistics, graphs nor charts, she does not know the meaning of GDP , CPI or whatever, but she does know that a bag of rice was about 5,000 naira during Yar'Adua's administration but the same bag of rice is currently selling for more than 10,000 naira. My grandmother also knows that a dollar was 22 naira during Abacha's administration because our Uncle Chukwubelu sends dollars from US of A, now my grandmother knows that dollars is about 160 naira. I am not saying that our world acclaimed co-ordinating minister of economy is not working ooo, but why has the price of even our Garri Ijebu increased by more than 200% in the last few years, are we also importing Garri Ijebu from Ijebu Towns into Nigeria? Our minister of Agriculture has been getting awards all over the world for the more than 200% increase in the prices of food items over the last couple of years, so the man has been getting award for failure.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla convinced us to pay all our so-called foreign debts during Obasanjo's unfortunate regime, this same woman in collaboration with Jonathan has now accumulated crazy loans for the generations yet unborn. Why nah? HUMAN BEINGS NO GET SHAME AGAIN ... just like animals.

Inflation rate is two digits (in Economics Language), unemployment rate is officially 55% according to the National Bureau of Statistics but in reality it is about 80%, crime rate is increasing everyday because a man must find means of survival but trillions of naira is budgeted every year and the only result of the budget is statistics, graphs, charts, GDP, CPI and other nonsenses displayed by Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla and her cohorts.

Please can someone explain how GDP, CPI, statistics, graphs, charts affects or infest the price of Ijebu Garri or Ofada Rice. They have banned importation of rice, turkey, chicken and now fish. I eat garri, turkey, fish and rice, I don't eat statistics and GDP, if that is what Ngozi Okonjo-Iwealla and her cohorts eat, then gudluck to them.
