TOP Football agent, Chris Nathaniel of London agency, NVA Management, is said to be putting together a Nigerian consortium to buy top Premiership club, Newcastle United.





He has called on Nigeria's top chief executive officers to help raise £300 million needed to buy the club outright and then a further £150 million on transfer funds to bring the glory days back to the club.

It is believed that Nathaniel's blueprint for the take-over will make huge profits and will be an ideal breeding ground to develop local young Nigerian footballers and give Nigeria a positive international coverage, which will boost tourism and attract foreign investment.

After two front runners in the bid to buy Newcastle - an Indian company, Reliance, and a Singaporean outfit, the Profitable Group - NVA Management is hoping that Nigeria's business leaders will rally together to beat off the competition and make Newcastle the first Black or Africa-owned club in English football history. It is believed that Nathaniel has pledged £10 million to kick the project off.

"We can confirm that we are working on getting together a consortium of the leading business CEO's in Nigeria to buy a football club in the English Premiership," a spokesperson for NVA Management stated.

"However, we are at the initial stages of discussions with various top Nigerian business people and a formal announcement will be made at the appropriate time."
