Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAON) on the 11th of August 2008 announced; 11 August 2008, Rome - A strain of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza previously not recorded in sub-Saharan Africa has been detected in Nigeria for the first time, FAO said today.
