I need any reasonable suggestion here. I have this friend who got married 3 years back to a professor in the US while still in Nigeria.
She has been trying to join him and she so frustrated that she wants to get a divorce. The man has tried using the senators and his school legal system and the embassy rejecting her application without reason. The babe is gainfully employed.
Now she can get on with another person, she cannot join her husband.
Please if have any solution here guys please I will appreciate it. If it is the UK, she would have been with her hubby since then.

This is a passionate appeal.

To make the matter worse, 3 of her friends who she told how to go about applying for Visa have all gone through. No forged papers.
I take God beg una, i will appreciate any info no matter how small.

If you wan curse me by all means do, but drop some info even if with small font.
thanks
Your sincerely
Agaba

Please do not waste your time. If all you said here is true, get a US lawyer and sue them.

Bros trust me. Nothing at stake. she was just a good friend. Was on phone with her today and she was crying like mad.
That alone is not just her problem but that has contributed so much. She has developed high blood pressure due to the conditions. I am just trying to see if I get any solution.

I have told her about moving to UK and from here moving on as it would be easier but i do not know how she is looking at it. She someone is working at helping her through canda already.

Ty,
Its not that simple. Assuming she gets to UK with visiting visa, she will still be asked to go back to her country of citizenship to make the application.

@poster
I know a friend's sister that was in a similar situation some years ago. Funny, the lady's husband was also lecturing at a uni in US. She applied several times and got refused. After about 5 years and applying several times, she was given. Reasons for refusal . . . from finances, to the genuinity of the marriage . . . In this case, the lady's husband did not come to naija so i do not know if he had come down to naija and visited the embassy with her would have made any difference.

Just tell the lady to keep praying, praying and praying. Marriage is an institution recognised by God and i see no reason why any man in the guise of ''entry clearance officer or whatever'' should come between it.  As funny as  this might sound . . . sometimes such cases are not ''oju lasan''  undecided . Calling the marriage, crying all the time, off wont change anything.

All she needs is divine favour and intervention from God ! smiley

@david
I think it is H1 or something. Not sure of the kind of of Visa.
But surely not fiancee or visiting visa. They wedded. The guy came to Nigeria to wed her.
@Ty4real
I do not think he has remarried because she was communicating with his attorney directly and the letter fom the senator and stuff were sent to her and stuff.
I do not have the details though. You never can tell. She said she had accused him of decieving her, that he could have remarried and the guy started crying. Could be disguise but he is not young.
@Funky
thanks she would try to pray harder
and why did you give us a half-moon

Re: Please Guys, I Need Your Help! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee by kenflipper(m): 10:55pm On Sep 13, 2008
The problem was that serious consideration wasnt at thot the first time she applied. If ur going to the American embassy plan for the worst and hope for the best. Was the guy with her when she applied?, if not then they didnt plan for the worst. Its always adviseable for your spouse to be with u during interview if he or she is based in the USA, that gives credibility to your request.

What is the status of the prof in USA?? e.g Citizen, Green card holder or Work eligibility?
If the Prof is a citizen then the embassy is refusing her knowingly. Cos they suspect that if the prof really wants her to join him he should know how to go about it better. If he is a citizen, then ask him to file for a K3 visa it takes 6months to 1year wait period and cost $1000 payable to USA immigration.
If not let him get an immigration lawyer. Ask the lady not to give up, the sacrifice will be worth it in the long run.
Re: Please Guys, I Need Your Help! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee by Nobody: 10:58pm On Sep 13, 2008
An H visa is a work visa no? She wont get it from Nigeria in 1000yrs.

Kenflipper's post makes most sense. Why is the husband not here to go with her to the embassy with strong proof of the validity of the marriage and his own status in the US? As a consular officer i'd suspect this was another arranged marriage too.
The K3 visa he suggested is also her best bet. Anything else is a waste of time.

Thanks a lot

The husband spent so much time in canada. She studied and became a professor there and is a canadian citizen.
I think he moved to US 6 to 7 years back. I cannot say his status in the US.

I will agree with you that he took all the whole stuff for granted initially. Prolly thinking he could get it easily. I will tell them about the K3 visa

Thanks Dave,
I appreciate your contributions. I will advice her accordingly
Any more suggestions is welcome

Did you see my reply to your post?
Re: Please Guys, I Need Your Help! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeee by kenflipper(m): 4:50am On Sep 15, 2008
@agba123 Yeah!, i saw ur reply.

hmmmmmm canadian citizen, this one is tricky, why hasnt he filed for US citizen, since he has been legal residence for 7yrs? 5yrs legal residence with out crime is all it takes to file! maybe he prefers holding on to his Canadian citizenship!
He should take a leave from his work place.
** With a letter of leave authorization from his employer and let him go to the embassy with his wife for a visit visa.
During the interview he could be asked if he has a leave authorization letter, that with other docs will show a proof of purpose of visiting Nigeria, thats how their system works at the US embassy world wide protocols are same ol!
While going to naija he should go with his work authorization card and tax clearance for 2005, 2006 and 2007, hopefully as a prof. he earns a 6 figure salary, that would also help alot.
Visit visa is one clear cut way out!
But a problem still exist!!! since her previous visa application was bogus (H visa) her interview questions will be centered around her quest for H visa, but with his presence and their marriage certification to show the kind of relationship between them, they should scale through. She should begin reasoning out an acceptable explaination, ignorance is an unacceptable excuse in the civilized world. She will not be allowed to work while in the USA, so if asked she should simply say no she doesnt intend to work, that all she wants is the ability to spend sometime with her hubby and return back to her job in Nigeria which she loves. Post this question cos' of of her previous H visa application they will try to make her use her own answer to disqualify herself from getting the visa.

Dear Agaba123,
First,i wish to thank you for your deep down concern about your friend's problem.It shows that you are a good friend indeed.Well,i am a travel and tour planner and i think i can help your friend out and there are two ways in which this can be achieved:-

1,I can package her to get to USA via Bahamas,but in this case,she must know how to drive a car because she is going to drive across to USA from Bahamas.
2;Or she goes to Canada via Barbados and her husband goes to Canada to pick her up.In this case,a Canadian visa will be issued to her in Barbados for onward movement to Canada. I think this solves her problem once and for all.For details,please call Ken:08052778462,08037060650.
Remain blessed.
