I have been cooking for as long as I can remember but one thing is constant.my food does not scent.most times when I serve food, people ask me when I cooked the food.this afternoon I was so frustrated that I had to put my nose in the pot to smell something but instead I got my nose burnt.
am I that much of a bad cook?

I think there is something wrong with your nose. Try to see a doctor first to examine your nose. Permit me to ask, if you fart nko, do pple perceive the smell?
After that you can visit ur pastor orImam. I can't understand dis kind of situation. So if you cook beans no one will smell it. Na wa oo

Lol!

Funny post and I don't believe it either. But let's give you the benefit of doubt.

Firstly, it really depends on what it is that you cook. To ensure your food scents well when cooked, make sure you always use fresh ingredients. The fresher they are, the better.

Secondly, fried meals / foods cooked in oil tend to scent well. So if for example you plan on cooking stew with beef, once you've heated the oil in your pot, add the pre-boiled meat and stir ocassionally. Once the meat looks dark brown / well fried, add your sliced onions to the mixture in the pot. There is absolutely no way in heaven that wouldn't scent nicely.

Thirdly, always leave your doors open when cooking. This would ensure that your neighbours get a good whiff and the nice smell also gets to float round your home.

When your food dnsnt have aroma it simply means that you dnt know how to cook forget about adding the whole spices on it & learn how to cook its common on our so called pingin girls once they start wearing leggins witout pant the only thing in their mind is men to dupe cooking is not for them wenever they visit your home tell them to cook fear will enguf their face even if they finally cook it they tel you to manage it that she's not prepare(prepare?apply more make'ups or what?) to cook food before coming if you taste food you cry for your wasted money.

Food does not scent, in other word no Aroma. U don't need to ask such question that what could be the cause, the only cause is that U DON'T KNOW HOW TO COOK. I hope u not a female o, because if u are, then I sense a broken marriage in future.

Re: My Food Does Not Scent.what Could Be The Cause? by jansie(f): 6:39am On Jul 11, 2014
it probably doesn't scent b'cos you're putting the right ingredient at the wrong time, for example, onions is a scent killer, frying or putting onions after other major spices kills the scent. Time too is a factor, how long do you allow ingredients to boil or fry at intervals?the longer, the scentier, pouring all the spices at once and immediately adding main condiments kills or reduces the smell. Set intervals in adding each spices, boiling, frying before adding main condiments

Put sliced onions and make the amount considerble. If you are the type that does not like onions, begin to like it now because onions will bring out the aroma whether with or without curried, maggied, and salted food
