My father was a wicked man. I didn't know my mother till I was an adult. All that I am was in spite of my fathers influence. Fortunately there were others in my life who were examples of what is good and kind.

The only traits I am grateful for from my parents is physical. No one could ever guess their ages. They both looked so much younger than they are. I have inherited that trait.

I forgave him long ago. I cried for his soul the day he died, because I knew he took his sins to the grave.

Not so happy about this. But since he is gone, I just hope you would format all he ever did and all that happened from your heart and be grateful for only one thing, that through him, you came into this beautiful world.

I do not hold a grudge. I am grateful. He did do good things too. They don't make him a good man or father though.

He was the man he was. I know what he faced as a child, so I never blamed him completely. The fact remains, I grew up in much the same conditions. I chose a different path.

There is always a choice to be made, no matter our past. As children we often have no choice, but as adults, our actions are on us. My choices fall on me, as did his.
