The Spirit World. What's Your Take? by cococandy(f): 7:12pm On Aug 04, 2014
I've always wondered. Really is there a world of spirits?
I'm not talking about heaven and hell and God and his angels etc etc.

Some people claim to have a connection with the spirit realm.
Others believe our long gone ancestors are the inhabitants of the spirit world from where they can observe us and once in a while make appearences to whomever they chose.

Some believe spirits are just creatures of God in another world or time(sort of) who have limited interaction with us

I was told my grandfather claimed to interact with his great grandfathers and grandfatehr before he passed on just close to the time of his death. I believed it then, but now,I don't know.

Could he have been hallucinating as a result of very old age(he was quite old) or having memory replays that felt so real?

I've read and heard other similar accounts where living people believe they can see the spirits and understand them.

Can you pls define what 'spirit' and 'world' is to you?

Lets have meaning to each of your word, this would help us understand what the compound is

What?
Apatheist: crickets
Re: The Spirit World. What's Your Take? by benodic: 10:57pm On Aug 04, 2014
There are other planes of existence apart from the physical plane which are on a higher vibration than the physical plane so our physical senses can not observe them. the plane closest to the physical plane in vibration is the astral plane and that is where many souls go to when they drop the physical body in death. souls also go there for brief visits during sleep, that is where most dream experiences take place. that is why you can see dead loved ones in your dreams.
so the spirit world as you may call it , is real. not a fairy tale.

You mean the dreams and the existence of the dead happen in the same realm?
How do you KNOW this?

Anyway I've heard about planes of higher vibrations before. Reading books from the monks of tibet opened my eyes to that school of thought.
An interesting one it is.

Thanks for the definition.

From what you have up there, I can conclude your definition do not best explain what spirit is OR you just dont know what it is.

Being Non human, does human not have a spirit? When we die, we give up spirit meaning we enbody it. So I can say that spirit is what makes us living human.

And/or are you specifically saying Spirit is a immortal creature living behind the wind?
Re: The Spirit World. What's Your Take? by cococandy(f): 8:46am On Aug 05, 2014
Well since I don't know about their existence or non existence, wouldn't it be silly of me to try explain them?

I just gave you the general description of what the folks around say when they mean spirits.

Are you saying spirit and soul are the same thing? I thought it's soul humans are believed to embody?
Anyway just give me your thoughts on the subject.

dream experiences take place in the inner planes , the same place where translated souls inhabit. those who come there during dreaming are seen as visitors.
take very good note of the place you visit when you are dreaming that is where you most likely will end up when you die.
this is the reason why many people who die do not even realize that they have died because where they find themselves is so familiar to them and the transition process is so natural with no strangeness to it at all.
I know this because I am a soul traveler. I have crossed the boundaries of life and death and have seen things for myself.

shocked shocked shocked
That is so interesting.
Ok pardon my curiosity. Is soul traveling a gift? Or were you born that way?

As for dreams,I just dream of regular places I've been to before like my house or my alma mater or friend's house. Nothing other worldly. Unless you mean I'll still be lurking around here when I'm gone.

Tell me more about this soul travel thing. When did you first experience it? Can you interact with the dead as in speech and sight?

.

soul travel is simply expansion of consciousness into
other areas of awareness that can not be experienced with physical senses.

it is a natural part of all souls. every one soul travels. the only difference is that some do it consciously and others do it unconsciously .
to soul travel consciously will require developing your inner senses through spiritual exercises.

concerning your dreams , as above so below. the places you were visiting are the inner plane aspects of the ones on earth. nothing can manifest on earth without first being established in the inner planes.
so when people translate they find themselves in settings similar to what they are used to on earth and that confuses them making think they are still on earth and not dead.

I was lucky to come in contact with the teachings of ECKANKAR , RELIGION OF THE LIGHT AND SOUND OF GOD. dream travel and soul travel is one of the basic teachings. and with practice of the spiritual exercise, I was able to consciously soul travel into the inner planes several times to see things for myself.

I even had the privilege of escorting my mother who translated to the place where she is residing now in the inner planes.
these experience are my authority and not what is written in any book .

you have the right as soul to assess all truth all you need to do is just to ask.

I've been exposed to the ECK.

You don't know how many eckankar teachings I've sat through.
Even chants of HU HU HU did nothing for me.

Maybe I'm faithless
I've always been on the quest for truth anyway.

I know a man in christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the thrid heaven-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know. God knows
3: and I know that this man was caught up up into paradise-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know. God knows
4: and he heard things that cannot be told which man may not utter.

@twosquare : note that paul was speaking about his revelations in this chapter.

Still I'm more interested in benodic's because he's experiencing it himself (according to him)

Don't want to derail....but Paul was talking about another man he knew&saw in a vision. He said he wouldn't boast about his own revelations but will prefer that man's own kind of ministration that the guy entered.

That apart, entering the spirit realm is not that easy and also easy. Not that easy in the sense that if you're not being taught you can't enter&it takes time.you must have had encounters....easy in another sense coz it takes sacrifice&consistency....But what is it folks want to enter that realm for?Is it for the fun of it or to see&hear things pertaining to God.
