Pheeew! I've been seriously thinking about a unique blog idea for weeks now but can't come up with something. My BP don high coz of too much thinkn Seems there's no unique idea anymore.


I don't want entertainment and tech.


What do u think will sell in nigeria asides entertainment?

When you create a blog, like I just created this blog in my signature - you are going to be needing articles (posts) on regular basis - where are you going to be getting it from?

It is the source of your information that will determine what you can blog. If I for example decide to make a blog on fashion, then i must be providing quality contents on fashion otherwise the blog will run down. Maintaining a blog is the key, not as easy as it seems.

Ok. I get your POV. Providing quality contents is not a problem for me because I know how to write.

My problem here is choosing the right niche. I want to do something unique. Every niche in nigeria is crowded and it sucks!

Maybe what you need then is no longer a blog.

Nay, I am blank at the moment. The thing is, there is nothing new really under the sun. Maybe you should just pick your favourite niche and start blogging, you never know, you may just hit it one day.
I am sure that when seun started nairaland, he might not have envisioned that it was going to be like this. And that is what they call a startup in a certain sense.

The most successful bloggers are people who write about what they are experienced in.

By saying "every niche is crowded" shows that you're just trying to fit in.
I once read somewhere that "No matter how crowded a niche is, quality will always be found". If you can show your visitors that "I know this thing better than all these other people", then your blog will outshine the others in a very short period of time.

It is for this reason that my blog is about php/javascript - where I major in - and my posts are unique, I don't copy anybody from anywhere online.
