Reports from Obafemi Awolowo university Health Centre states that a female student walked into the emergency room yesterday evening and told the doctor on duty that she had been in contact with the late Doctor's family that died in Port Harcourt about 2 weeks ago, she said that she had been in contact with the doctor's 3 month old baby.
She presented with stooling and vomiting which had been on for over 3 days now.Immediately there was a panic among the patients who all ran away on hearing the news. She was immediately taken and kept in the isolation ward, the community health unit has been fumigating the entire health centre for some hours now, arrangements have been made for her to moved to a treatment facility.
This is still a suspected case but please be very careful if you are in OAU campus.

U are right... May be I should say we've survived the scare, tension and panic that took over PH, especially Choba in the last few weeks. Well everybody is still cautious but there is a great difference now in peoples relationship with one another compared to when the case was reported.

May God continue to protect us all, I believe we'll live to tell our children about "the Ebola era".

Hmmm... I can remember having a picnic somewhere in OAU few years back, the bats (adan) were really scary and gun shots from the hunters no be small thing. Adventist Grammar school in Ede has alot of bats too, except if they've done something about the bats in d last few years.

Hmmm... The same way my family members were calling me here in school when the Ebola case was reported in PH is the same way I'll be calling all of them, if she tests positive. I pray it's negative, and proper measures be taken early to stop the spread in Ife and it's environs.

I seriously don't know what is difficult to comprehend in " if U know u've had contact with Dr. Iyke or been to Sam steel hospital recently, plz give urself up for quarantine" that the lady couldn't understand.

bros i have no idea as most of us could not even move to where she was kept, no protective gear here abi who wan die? she has been taken to Lagos for 2 confirmatory tests , i hope it turns negative cos the way people who have been in contact with her are now feeling is really scary.
