It is obvious that in our higher institutions, some lecturers insist on blocking before you will pass their course.

A friend of mine from federal polytechnic Auchi called me yesterday and told me that they are are about to finish their second semester examination.

When i asked her how far the exam has been, she told me that it has been good except for the course she had carryover in her first semester.

Then i asked her what about the course? and she said that the lecturer that took them that course still insist that they block his second semester course again before they will pass. She went further to say that majority of her classmates summited a blank answer sheet because they know they are going to block so there is no need wasting their time writing and this heightened her fear.

When i asked her why she does not want to do like the romans are doing since she is now in rome? She said that she told her mum about the lecturer and her mum asked her to do what others are doing and even sent her the money for blocking.

The problem here is that my friend said she does not want to do it because her spirit is against it rather she wants to use the money her mother sent to her to sow a seed.

As a good friend that i am, i advised her to block but it seems i killed her spirit the moment i said that. I asked her to do it since it is not sex that the lecturer is demanding for but money.

My question to all concerned nigerians is: WHAT IS THE ALTERNATE TO BLOCKING A LECTURER WHO INSISTS ON "NO PAY NO PASS"?

Your contrubutions are highly needed please!

Half baked lecturers = half-baked and unemployable graduates. Now I know reasons why they have platoons of cultist in that school. Students that doesn't want to read before.
I wonder if they have ethics in that school.

it is not peculiar to that school though, i only indicated the name of the school to see if anyone can come in and bear witness but it seems people are not proud of their school. had it been i said uniben or unilag now, you will see their students trooping in to defend or bear witness to it.

what i typed up there is the truth and i wish i could get a reasonable suggestion as this is a very serious matter
