Take a look at the above posts with webpage addresses, they might help you. Only if you wanna go into the academic field.

Iqama is a work permit that your employer applies on your behalf to work here. The employer bears all the costs of relocation etc and they become our Mahrams especially for us women. Some employers refuse to hand people over to other employers because of the costs of relocating and recruiting one person.

Therefore they sort of "close iqama" meaning you cannot resign and join another employer. You have to resign, return to your country of origin and start the process all over again.

"Transferable Iqama" simply means transferable work permit. Eg. If you come with a wife and your wife is your dependant under your "Iqama", she can find a job while in Saudi, if she decides to take another offer, she is free to do it because her "Iqama" is transferable. She didnt arrive in Saudi through any company, but through the husband.

This is somehow modern day slavery, but it doesn't affect us that much. People resign and return to their home countries and start the process all over again.

Hey I had massaged you in the past but didn't see any reply from ya.

Anyways hope you good! I heard they have started terminating Job contracts for Teachers. How true is that? Where you affected or u work in private?

Good day...@esosa4real,how is life over there as a doctor in the KSA. I have a question and I'm hoping you could be of help.
I'm a fellow colleague still in Nigeria at the moment. I want to know if there are other ways a doctor can get a job and emigrate to the KSA apart from the annual recruitment by saudi MOH. I was disappointed this year when they informed us of no recruitment for MOs /residents Dr. They wanted only consultants.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks so much. That will be helpful I guess. But guys, be alert of any scams or human trafficking parasites who use well meaning sites for their evil. Some of these websites are not all good.

Consult, ask at the embassy, research, research, research.

At least we are having a calm thread with no bickering and insults cheesy cheesy cheesy. Way to go guys. cheesy cheesy

Hello ChineloSA and all on this fora. My name is Cosmas aka Coco. I just got a job as a medical consultant in KSA but still processing my travel documents. I have read a lot here but still have a little worry. The contract sum in my offer letter seems a bit less than I expected and a friend in Saudi confirmed that it is lower than what was offered to Nigerian consultant last year. I have asked my agents and the said I should renegotiate when I get to Saudi before signingy offer letter. Please is this feasible. Kindly help a brother. I don't know how to go about it.

When you wanna do CELTA, normally they don mind what degree you have. All they need is a degree.

So, your education degree is a bonus.

@chinelosa

Omo I read this thread from beginning and all I can say is that you are wonderful. Everything you have said about saudi is true. I am currently here in najran, asir province and spent 8months. It's not been easy but life here is doable.

Am a doc with just 3yrs post grad experience and hoping to leave here in 2017 for the west and probably return in future. I have been to south Africa, Brazil, uk on visit visas in the past for conferences and I ve Ben exposed to public and global health.

Please do you know of any options for medical laboratory scientists in hail or riyadh? My wife to be studied that and I am really thinking if I will bring her here or not.

She won't be able to survive in najran grin grin grin especially with the new Yemeni bombings, anyways our wedding is next year december, so hope to be outta here before then!

Also, I was in riyadh for the first time last week, I went to renew my UK visa, omo that place was so lit and burriful. Very big contrast from where I am oo. But like you said in previous posts, these smaller cities like hail, najran etc have lesser problems as regards calmness and all.

Nice to see you here and let me know if it's okay to pm you for contact on whatsapp or bbm.

Godbless
